Why Chelsea must send Alvaro Morata on loan to West Ham

After Antonio Conte’s departure, there were doubts as to how new manager Maurizio Sarri would fare at Stamford Bridge. Though it is too early to take a call, it would not be wrong to suggest that Sarri is off to a flyer with his new boys.

Chelsea have been playing an attractive brand of football and have secured 15 points from five Premier League games so far. Evidently, Sarri has made a mark at his new club and the Blues are currently sitting merrily at the top of the table. But amidst all the goods, there are a few negatives that need to be sorted if Chelsea are to remain where they are at the end of the season. The biggest concern for the London giants has to be Alvaro Morata’s inconsistency.  has seldom shown

The No. 9, who joined Chelsea for a fee of £60m, has rarely displayed glimpses of his talent in the blue shirt. Despite starting his journey on a satisfactory note with the west London outfit, Morata has failed to convert undemanding chances.

After a poor first season under Conte, Morata should have worked harder and to make a strong comeback in the second season. However, the Spaniard has only disappointed.

Morata, who is currently just a shadow of the player he used to be, has looked massively out of focus. Also, his hunger and appetite for goals seem to be a matter of the past. It is clear that Morata’s confidence has reached an all-time low and he soon needs some goals under his belt to regain his old form.

But making the situation worse for the 25-year-old is Olivier Giroud, who has emerged as Sarri’s main man to lead the line after his brilliant link-up display with Eden Hazard against Cardiff City last week.

Considering the lack of game time, Morata must attempt to move away from Chelsea. And according to Daily Star, West Ham United, who have also started afresh under Chilean manager Manuel Pellegrini, are tracking the Spaniard and are interested in landing him on loan. Given the situation, this move could benefit both parties.

If Chelsea do loan out Morata and get an in-form striker, there could be no looking back for the men in blue. With their midfielders at their firing best and a striker who could add 20 goals a season, the Blues could a formidable force under a manager who is fond of offensive football.

On the other hand, Morata would receive some much-needed game time at West Ham and that could do his confidence a lot of good. If a deal works out between the two clubs in January, the Hammers could truly utilize a player like the former Real Madrid superstar.
