Chainsaw Man’s first season featured 12 episodes, covering volumes 1-4 of the manga source material. However, Season 2 may adapt more material from these chapters than just those ones; it may explore Bomb Girl or International Assassin arcs from its source material as well.

As well as exploring these arcs, the second season of this popular anime will likely include some new characters. While Denji, Pochita and Aki should return for another go around in season 2, there could also be new faces joining their ranks such as Reze who made her debut during season 1.

Studio MAPPA, known for producing blockbuster shows with stunning animation, will oversee the sequel of Chainsaw Man. They were responsible for Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan and Virgin River so fans should expect another visually captivating anime experience from them.

Plot

Chainsaw Man’s first season won over anime fans with its engaging animation, dark humor, and intense action sequences. Additionally, its compelling narrative left audiences eager for more. Due to this success, there has been speculation that Chainsaw Man may return for another season; however no official announcement has been made by any means; therefore Mappa Stage 2023 provides an ideal opportunity to hear news regarding future plans for this show.

Chainsaw Man Season 2 will likely feature more devils and battles. The series may focus on finding Gun Devil – an influential demon who represents gun fears – or exploring other elements from manga such as Bomb Girl or International Assassins Arcs. Furthermore, as Reze was seen prominently featured in a post-credits scene of Season 1, she may play an integral part of Season 2.

After being betrayed by the yakuza, Denji united with Pochita to form Chainsaw Man – an anti-demonic hunter capable of producing chainsaw-spewing chains from his body – and joined his friends Power, Aki, Himeno, and Kobeni in fighting off devils like Ghost Devil, Bat Devil, Katana Devil etc. Together they inch ever closer towards discovering Gun Devil.

Characters

As an avid manga reader, I’m really curious to see how they adapt it in season 2. After all, the first season ended at Chapter 38 of the manga; leaving plenty of material for another series to take advantage of.

The first season followed Denji as he embarked on his journey as a Devil Hunter, assisted by Power, Kobeni, Himeno and Aki. Together they battled ghost devils like Ghost Devil, Bat Devil and Katana Devil until eventually Denji managed to defeat all three devils and become victorious!

Denji is a good man who deeply values his friends and fellow Devil Hunters, though sometimes his childish behavior makes people root against him! Pochita, however, serves as Denji’s personal weapon while simultaneously becoming one of his favourite characters on-screen.

Makima is one of the more inscrutable of Makima and Power’s group of Devil hunters, holding an exceptional relationship with Denji whom she treats like one of her “pets”. Power may seem self-serving at first glance but has immense loyalty towards both teammates as well as Meowy their cat companion.

Chainsaw Man was released to anime fans in October 2022 and became an instantaneous success, leaving audiences hungry for more bloody and thrilling adventure. While an official announcement of Season Two may yet come, Studio MAPPA’s track record speaks for itself; other projects under way at this studio include Vinland Saga and Attack on Titan’s finale.

Tatsuki Fujimoto created an anime adaptation of his manga of the same name entitled Chainsaw Denji that follows Denji, a young man trying to repay his father’s debts by selling body parts. To do this, Denji enters into an agreement fusing his body with that of Pochita, his pet dog-devil companion allowing him to transform parts of himself into chainsaws for sale.

It became immensely popular both with audiences and critics, even earning Tatsuki Fujimoto praise as his favorite series creator! Chainsaw Denji first season was such an enormous hit among audiences and critics that even its author has expressed admiration as one of his favorites!

While no official details have been given regarding a second season’s plot, we can expect it to follow a similar narrative to what we witnessed during its predecessor. That means more exciting battles, character arcs, and dark revelations that will leave viewers spellbound. If this one lives up to expectations as much as its predecessor did, then the wait will certainly have been worthwhile!

Conclusion

As fans eagerly await Chainsaw Man Season 2, the prospect of delving deeper into the world of devils, dark humor, entertainment and thrilling action is generating immense excitement. With MAPPA’s track record and the potential for new characters and arcs, the wait for Fall 2023 or 2024 promises to be well worth it!
