Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano are dreaming of winning NXT gold

The power couple of WWE NXT, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae, faced off in a tag team match ahead of TakeOver 31.

The pair have been brilliant since turning heel and were one of the hits from this week’s NXT. There were other positives from the show too but we start off with WWE hitting on one star, again.

Misses

1) Grimes doesn’t lift off

It seemed that Cameron Grimes would finally be getting a push after he destroyed a random star on the show.

However, WWE made an example of Grimes as Ridge Holland finished off the Technical Savage easily.

Holland getting a push isn’t new as WWE sees something great in him. But this was another week they attacked Grimes, and they have been doing it for a while.

Hits

1) Gargano and LeRae

The power couple provided a warning to Damian Priest and Io Shirai after winning the tag team match on NXT.

Gargano and his wife, LeRae, look to be in great shape as a pair. They could make things tough for Priest and Shirai as they defend their titles at TakeOver 31.

While Gargano has won the North American title in the past, LeRae could win NXT gold for the first time.

It would be amazing if that happens and LeRae deserves some gold around her waist.

2) Spicy Li

Xia Li was back in action on this week’s NXT but she lost to Kayden Carter. While she was offered a hand after losing, the Chinese star pushed away Carter and seemed upset about it.

WWE has teased Li turning heel and this should be a great move for her. Li hadn’t been seen much on WWE in recent weeks but things have changed for Chinese star and she is getting a lot of time on TV.

3) The debate

While the world was left shocked and appalled as Donald Trump and Joe Biden wasted their debate ahead of the US elections, WWE didn’t mess about with theirs.

Shawn Michaels was the moderator between Kyle O’Reilly and NXT Champion Finn Balor. There were some great responses and stories between the two while they had respect for each other too.

It was great seeing a proper debate instead of a scuffle at the end of it, and hopefully, the match at TakeOver will be as great as this.
