Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool line-up to face Huddersfield in the Premier League

It has been a glorious start to the season for Jurgen Klopp’s men and the Reds are yet to be beaten in the Premier League. After enjoying a six-game winning streak in the Premier League, Liverpool were held to draws by Chelsea and Manchester City in consecutive games.

In fact, things haven’t gone according to the script for Jurgen Klopp in recent weeks. A 2-1 humbling at the hands of Chelsea in the Carabao Cup was followed by a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Napoli in the Champions League.

However, the Reds are the outright favourites to bag all three points when they make the trip to the Kirklees Stadium to face Huddersfield Town. While it is important for the Reds to come away with all three points to keep pace with their rivals at the top of the table, the Terriers will be looking to turn their fortunes around and get something out of the game.

Klopp could have a lot of issues regarding the fitness of some of his key players. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are doubtful to feature due to thigh and thumb injuries respectively and Klopp wouldn’t want to risk his key players against Huddersfield.

Naby Keita also suffered a hamstring injury while on national duty and James Milner was pictured training this week. Adam Lallana has been training with the squad for a week and his selection is subject to a late fitness test.

Probable Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Alisson (GK)

The Brazilian has kept five clean sheets so far in the Premier League and should be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

He missed the game against Manchester City but is expected to be back for the weekend clash.

Joe Gomez (CB)

The youngster played a key role in England’s victory over Spain in the UEFA Nations League and should start ahead of Dejan Lovren.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

The towering Dutchman has stood strong like a rock at the back for the Reds and is expected to do the same on Saturday.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

He has been an influential figure down the left both in terms of attack and the defence. Klopp should continue to pick him.

Jordan Henderson (CDM)

He has been fluent with his passing and is always an important presence in the midfield with his work rate and game-reading ability.

Georginio Wijnaldum (RCM)

The Dutchman has been in impressive form this season. He has been very effective with his pressing off the ball and has broken up the play with crucial interceptions.

Fabinho (LCM)

The Brazilian might get his first start of the Premier League in the absence of James Milner, who is out with a hamstring injury.

Xherdan Shaqiri (RW)

He has displayed glimpses of his brilliance in the limited game time that he has been given and this would be a good chance for him to impress the manager in the absence of Mohamed Salah.

Roberto Firmino (LW)

He has been in decent form this season and has always looked threatening with his link-up play and movement off the ball.

Daniel Sturridge (ST)

Injuries to Mane and Salah should open the door for Sturridge to get some valuable game time. He scored an absolute screamer against Chelsea and he will need plenty of those to pose a significant challenge for a first-team spot in the coming days.
