Everton vs Crystal Palace Predictions: Everton Match report

Everton were left frustrated at Selhurst Park after being held to a goalless draw by Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

Jordan Pickford did not have a single save to make in Saturday’s game, but Marco Silva’s men could not find a breakthrough at the other end despite dominating large chunks of the contest.

In just the fifth minute, Dominic Calvert-Lewis tested Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, who basically had to keep out a tame shot from the Everton striker. That was the start of the visitors’ series of attacks that saw the Eagles peg back in for the next 15 minutes of the game.

By the half-time period came on, the Toffees had 11 shots, two on goal, while Palace had created very little and mustered zero shots on target. However, Palace opened the second half looking to attack the Royal Blues, with James McArthur firing straight at goal but only could find the side netting.

A few minutes later, Everton found their mojo again. Bernard fired a deflected effort against the foot of the post from just inside the box after Patrick van Aanholt’s poor clearance fell into his path. Richarlison thought he should have won a penalty after Van Aanholt caught him as he cleared the ball from within the area.

The referee’s decision to not award the spot-kick to the visitors seemed correct, however, that didn’t deter Silva’s men from constantly launching attacks on the Palace goal. Substitute Cenk Tosun back-heeled Seamus Coleman’s delivery on goal, only to be denied by the fantastic reflexes of Guaita, who somehow cleared with his shoulder.

Lucas Digne’s cross then deflected off Andros Townsend and against the woodwork in the final moments as Palace frustrated Everton, thus, clinging on to a valuable point.
