Why Burnley should beat Everton to sign free agent Yaya Toure
After winning the Premier League for the third time with Manchester City, Yaya Toure was released by the Blues last summer. The Ivorian moved to Greek champions Olympiakos, a club where he spent a season in 2005/2006. He was on a “pay as you play” contract with the club but it proved problematic for them later as they came under increasing budget restrictions. This led to his contract being terminated by mutual consent in December and the Ivorian is currently a free agent.
Yaya Toure, 35, comes in with bags of experience, managing 400 senior appearances for club & country and would add value to any team. After becoming a free agent last summer, the veteran midfielder opted to move to his former club in Greece. However, the Ivorian has his eyes set on returning to the Premier League after getting released from Olympiakos.
Everton currently sit 9th in the Premier League and Marco Silva appears to be under pressure. The Portuguese manager failed to bring in reinforcements in the January transfer window and with 3 losses in their last 5 games, the Toffees need some inspiration and Yaya Toure could just be the man to bring some fight back into the team.
With Idrissa Gueye and Andre Gomes being preferred in central midfield and Morgan Schneiderlin out of favour under Marko Silva, the Merseyside team have room to bring in someone capable of pushing them up the table and Yaya Toure is a proven commodity.
Burnley, on the other hand, have had a poor season so far and they currently sit 17th in the league, just 2 points above the relegation zone. Jack Cork has made the defensive midfield role, with to Ashley Westwood and Jeff Hedrick rotating for the no.8 role.
If Toure does come in, he will fit in perfectly in the number 8 role next to Cork or Westwood which in turn helps Hendrik to push further ahead. Toure will bring in leadership skills and a winning mentality to the Clarets and is one who could help them stay up in the league.

The Clarets’ need for Toure is more than that of Everton at the moment; hence, Sean Dyche must quickly snap up the experienced Ivorian to boost his team’s chances of staying in the Premier League.
