In what was a thrilling British GP 2022, Ferrari star Carlos Sainz grabbed his first victory in Formula 1 on Sunday. The Spaniard started from pole position but had to retake the lead from his teammate Charles Leclerc in the final stages of the race following a safety car. Sainz also became the second driver from Spain to win a Grand Prix in F1.

Leclerc, who was the only driver in the top 10 who didn’t pit after a late safety car, ended up finishing 4th as he was passed by Red Bull’s Sergio Perez (P2) and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton (P3). The four drivers were involved in a sensational battle towards the end of the race and switched positions plenty of times after the safety car during their scrimmage.
