Liverpool were able to strengthen their claim for the title by absolutely tearing through Jan Siewert’s Huddersfield Town side at Anfield. The game that ended 5-0 saw the Reds scoring within 15 seconds of the opening whistle – Naby Keita’s goal coming only a second later than their all-time record.

A brilliant performance from Sadio Mane was backed up by yet another masterclass from the Egyptian magician Mohamed Salah. With the pair getting a couple of goals each along the course of the match, the Reds moved back up to the top of the table; at least till Manchester City play Burnley later in the weekend.

The youngster keeps proving his quality despite a young age and he put in another masterful display. 

Dejan Lovren 7

Almost scored a goal in the dying stages but made one wrong tackle that almost gave away the clean sheet. 

Virgil van Dijk 8

Looked fairly assured in defence as usual although he wasn’t troubled nearly as much as he usually would be.

Dominated in midfield for most of the game and opened the scoring for the Reds within 15 seconds.

The midfielder showed excellent conspire in midfield and did well to keep the ball ticking during some difficult phases.
