1. Bloodborne 

Bloodborne is a well-known Dark Souls competitor, so you won’t want to miss out on this one. A wonderful tale loaded with dark mysteries makes this game a great choice. As a savior, you embark on a long adventure to uncover the truth in the terror-infested gothic metropolis, where terrible creatures are constantly on the lookout for you. 

Bloodborne’s gameplay appears to be just as engrossing as Dark Souls’. The eye-catching gothic surroundings and ambient lighting, on the other hand, appealed to me more. Nioh 2 decided to fully embrace the spirit of the Soulsborne games, with a custom-made character, less emphasis on an overt narrative, and some of the most difficult combat the gaming industry has ever seen. Anyone who has played Dark Souls will be familiar with Nioh 2’s fighting system, which is vicious but fair in execution.

6. Salt and Sanctuary 

Salt and Sanctuary is a cross between the Castlevania and Dark Souls franchises. Salt and Sanctuary is the perfect game for you if you want to play Dark Souls but prefer 2D surroundings and gameplay. It has good 2D graphics and a gloomy gameplay style akin to Dark Souls. You travel around gathering Salt to increase your abilities and magical skills while passing through Sanctuaries, which serve as checkpoints. The game is heavily influenced by Dark Souls, and it allows you to experience the grim adventure in all of its 2D splendour.

7. Dead Cells

Dead Cells by Motion Twin is a mash-up of Roguelike and Metroidvania that uses Souls magic to paint its universe. Expect to die a lot and be penalised for it in this game, and spend the rest of your time mastering enemy move sets. Dead Cells could be the refreshing change you need if you want to explore how Souls combat works in a different dimension with some brilliant variations.
