Here is our list of the Best Cross Platform Games that you can play with your friends on PC, Xbox, Playstation, and mobile in 2022!

Not long ago, deciding between the latest PlayStation and Xbox consoles came down to a lot more than just money and personal preference. Players had to think about not only what worked best for them, but also which console their friends would be using. Over the years, it has sparked numerous heated debates, with some friendship groups being ripped apart by their inability to agree on a single approach. But, thankfully, times have changed.

Most of the major new multiplatform games now feature crossplay, allowing players to play with their friends regardless of which system they’re using. Even better, developers have included this feature in a number of older games. As a result, consumers looking for high-quality multiplayer games to play with their friends are flooded with options. Here is our list of the Best Cross Platform Games to play in 2022.

Best Cross Platform Games 2022

1. Phantasy Star Online 2

This game may be the first to support cross-platform gaming on as many platforms as possible, including PC, PlayStation 4, iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. The action role-playing game Phantasy Star Online 2 is set in the Phantasy Star Universe. It gives players the opportunity to explore a huge and diverse cosmos. In addition to extensive customization, Phantasy Star Online 2 offers a wide range of futuristic weaponry to utilise. This instalment will appeal to fans of RPGs, science fiction, and fans of the prior games in the series.

2. Chivalry 2

Chivalry 2 was released in June 2021 for current and last-gen consoles, more than a decade after Chivalry: Medieval Warfare for Windows. It’s a hack-and-slash action cross-platform game with a major emphasis on multiplayer gaming, similar to its predecessor. The game looks amazing, and combat has never felt smoother, thanks to numerous improvements. Those wishing to play it on PC may be unhappy to hear that it is an Epic exclusive, but for those who don’t mind or will be playing it on console, it is a fantastic multiplayer game with a lot to offer.

3. Dauntless

This is without a doubt one of the most popular cross-play games available. Dauntless is a cross-platform action roleplaying game from Epic Games. It’s absolutely free to play, and it looks great. It’s your mission as a Slayer to hunt down Behemoths. Similar to Monster Hunter, the player will use the resources earned from slaying monsters to develop stronger gear in order to take on more difficult opponents. 4. Sea of Thieves

Since its first release in 2018, Sea of Thieves has come a long way. The game’s size and scope have expanded substantially, and many of the annoying bugs that plagued it at launch have been addressed. What’s left is one of the best action-adventure games money can buy, as well as a truly incredible multiplayer experience. The game was launched in late 2020 for Xbox Series consoles, however Game Pass customers have had access to it from 2018. With the debut of Season 3 marked with a special Pirates of the Caribbean crossover, there’s likely never been a better opportunity to set sail across Sea of Thieves’ open world on PC or Xbox, solo or with friends.

5. Paladins

Paladins is a free game for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. You can choose between playing as a magistrate or a paladin in this free online shooter. If you want to win a game, you must communicate with your teammates on a regular basis. All of your favourite game types are available, including team deathmatch, ranking, assault (in which teams battle for points across a map), and the main game mode, siege. These excellent gaming possibilities, as well as a unique blend of sci-fi and fantasy, will satisfy more competitive gamers.

6. Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact swept the world by storm after its release in late 2020. It made about $400 million in its first two months alone, and it has nearly doubled that amount since then. While the single-player experience is pleasant, this is a game that was developed with multiplayer in mind as well. Players must first reach Adventurer level 16 before they may begin to enjoy the game’s co-op feature. They’ll be able to join up with up to three buddies on other platforms once they’ve done so, as long as they’re all playing in the same region.

7. ARK: Survival Evolved

Cross-platform play is possible for Ark Survival Evolved on Xbox and PC. You find yourself trapped on the shores of an unknown island, surrounded by big prehistoric insects, plants, and creatures. To live, you and your friends must capture control of this prehistoric island. In Ark Survival Evolved, you get what you see. The name of the game is “survival of the fittest.” However, like with anything else, having a team on your side improves your chances of winning.

8. Final Fantasy XIV

After receiving a cold reception to the initial game, this MMORPG was renamed A Realm Reborn as a second attempt to right several gaming wrongs. All of the MMORPG staples are there and correct, including experience points, great missions. If you’re a fan of the Final Fantasy series, you’ll want to get this game right now. With each patch and update, the creators add new features and development to the in-game world’s plot, giving the player the feeling that they are in a pivotal moment in Hydaelyn’s history. 9. Halo Infinite

Masterchief returned in late 2021, six years after the release of Halo 5: Guardians, with the highly stunning Halo Infinite. The single-player narrative is amazing, but the multiplayer option is unquestionably the game’s main star. However, given the franchise’s history, this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone who has ever played a Halo game. Infinite was well worth the wait, with 22 weapons, a plethora of fantastic levels, and some of the best combat in the series’ history. Crossplay is available on all platforms, though some console gamers are hopeful that an option to stop the feature will be implemented at some point, as they believe PC players have an unfair edge. 10. Apex Legends

In 2019, Respawn’s battle royale swept the congested sub-genre, giving a refined experience with a strategic element thanks to its team-based gameplay. With over 100,000 concurrent players on Steam since then, the game has rarely diminished in popularity. However, when compared to the game’s total userbase, this is a drop in the bucket. Apex Legends supports crossplay, and EA’s website explains how to put it up in detail. Apex Legends also allows for cross-progression across Steam and Origin accounts, however this is the extent of the capability. This means that if someone is playing on the Xbox One, their progress will be lost when they switch to the Nintendo Switch.
