Here’s a look at the Azerbaijan GP 2022 Qualifying results from Saturday, June 11th as Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took pole position.

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc stormed to pole position for the Azerbaijan GP on Saturday after a stunning lap in Q3. The Monegasque became the only driver to take back-to-back pole positions at the Baku City Circuit after finishing on pole last year as well.

It was also Leclerc’s fourth consecutive pole position this season. However, he has managed only one win in those last four races. For much of Q3, it seemed as if Leclerc’s teammate Carlos Sainz would take P1 but the Spaniard couldn’t improve on his time in the last lap, which left him in P4 for Sunday’s main race.

Red Bull driver Sergio Perez continued his impressive run with another stonking lap toward the end of Q3. The Mexican won his first race of the season in Monaco and will be hoping to finish this year’s Azerbaijan GP in first place as he did last season.

Perez’s teammate Max Verstappen finished in P3, the same place he qualified last season at this circuit. The reigning world champion was on course to a comfortable win last year at this track but a puncture late in the race forced him to crash out.

George Russell finished in fifth on Sunday, two places ahead of his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, who could drop further down the field if he is penalised for his qualifying misdemeanour.
