The 8th-seeded team has entertained the Melbourne crowd with some spectacular tennis in the three matches they have played so far. They are one win away from reaching consecutive semifinals at the Australian Open.

In the first match, the experienced duo made light work of Sebastian Baez and Luis David Martinez, winning the match 6-4, 6-2. Granollers and Zeballos followed it up with a dogged performance against the team of Marcelo Demoliner and Andrea Vavassori. They came back from a set down to win the match 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2. In the third round, Granollers and Zeballos got the better of the South African duo of Raven Klaasen and Lloyd Harris in straight sets 6-1, 7-6 (7-4), converting 2 out of 3 break points.

John Peers & Andreas Mies

The 14th-seeded team played at the Adelaide International 2 before coming to the Australian Open. They lost to Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek in the round of 16.

Peers and Mies had to show a lot of grit and determination to get past the Indian duo of Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni in the first round. The match eventually ended 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (4-7), 6-3 in favor of Peers and Mies. They produced a solid display in the second round to triumph over the team of Andre Goransson and Marc-Andrea Huesler in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). In the third round, Mies and Peers played a near-perfect game as they blew away Luke Saville and Alex Bolt in straight sets 6-0, 6-3.
