Ram and Salisbury opened their campaign with a win in three sets against the Spanish-Argentine duo of Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos. The match ended 6-3, 6-7 (8-10), 10-8 in favor of Salisbury and Ram. In their second match, Ram and Salisbury defeated the team of Lloyd Glasspool and Harri Heliovaara in straight sets 7-5, 6-4. The British-American duo was exceptional with their serves in this encounter. Having already reached the semis, Ram and Salisbury did not let the winning momentum slip in their final group game as they defeated the team of Marcelo Arevalo and Jean-Julien Rojer 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-5.
Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski
The first-seeded team has a 2-1 record coming into the semis. They have had to dig deep to progress to the last-4 stage of the competition.
Koolhof and Skupski faced the Australian duo of Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios in their first match. The top-seeded team came back from a set down to win the match 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 10-5. In their second match in Turin, Koolhof and Skupski were handed a thrashing by Mate Pavic and Nikola Mektic. The Croatian duo won the match in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (7-3). In a do-or-die encounter, Skupski and Koolhof edged past Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek 7-5, 4-6, 10-6.
Prediction
These two teams faced each other very recently at the 2022 US Open final. Ram and Salisbury emerged victorious in straight sets 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 and they will be the favorites to come up trumps once again. They have been consistent and have the winning momentum that can bode well in a high-voltage match.
