Arsenal Opinion: Cherries’ Ryan Fraser is the perfect winger for Gunners

According to a recent report from The Mirror, Arsenal are said to be looking for two new players in the upcoming summer transfer window – a new winger as well as a midfield replacement for Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey.

It is suggested in the report that Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser is the man that Unai Emery has identified as a potential winger target for the Gunners next season as he would strengthen what is definitely their weakest position.

Ryan Fraser is a 25-year-old Scottish international who currently plies his trade for Eddie Jose’s Bournemouth side in the Premier League where is often utilised as a left-winger who is capable of making bombarding runs down the flanks.

Born in the city of Aberdeen in 1994, he was developed as a player at the famous Aberdeen youth academy where he spent most of his formation years training to become a professional. He was granted a first-team contract by Aberdeen in the summer of 2012.

Despite immense happiness in achieving his long term goal, he spent just over 6 months more at Aberdeen as a call from English club Bournemouth in 2013 was too much for the youngster to pass up on at the time.

After a loan spell at Ipswich in 2015, he returned in the summer of 2016 looking like a completely rejuvenated player and despite all the competition in Eddie Howe’s side, it didn’t take Fraser long to nail down a starting role at the Vitality Stadium.

This season, he has impressed heavily whenever his services have been utilised having scored 6 goals and assisted 10 from his 32 league appearances which means that he hasn’t missed a single game all campaign.

Arsenal are one of the clubs who should be quite keen on signing this exiting young talent who has massive potential for development if complemented with the right kind of players. The Gunners’ lack of wingers should be another motivating factor.

Alex Iwobi remains their only identified winger while striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has been utilised in the flanks whenever necessary. Ryan Fraser has the right attributes to come in and really take over from the inconsistent Iwobi as the first-choice winger.

Fraser provides great pace and control on the ball while he is also an excellent passer. With players like Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil around to support him, his development will be rapid and Unai Emery must move for the Scottish winger in the upcoming transfer window.
