Tottenham Hotspur Prediction: Probable XI to face Burnley

Tottenham Hotspur travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday as they look to bounce back to winning ways.

Spurs are currently in seventh place in the Premier League, five points behind 4th-placed Chelsea. They lost back-to-back league games against Chelsea and Wolves respectively, before bowing out of the FA Cup by losing to Norwich City on penalties.

Jose Mourinho, who has lost the last four games in all competitions, will expect his boys to give everything against an in-form Burnley side.

Hugo Lloris has missed the last two games but he could be available for the trip to Burnley. Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn were forced off in the FA Cup defeat to Norwich but neither injury looks serious.

Meanwhile, Eric Dier may face disciplinary action after remonstrating with a fan following the club’s FA Cup elimination on Thursday.

Tottenham Prediction: Probable XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Hugo Lloris (GK)

Lloris has missed the last two games with an injury but he should be back in goal against Burnley at Turf Moor.

Serge Aurier (RB)

Aurier has become a regular starter at right-back under Mourinho and the Ivorian should keep his place in the starting XI.

Toby Alderweireld (CB)

Alderweireld has been one of the most consistent members for Tottenham in the past few years but his performance has not been up to the mark this season. After being a substitute in the last two games, he is certain to be recalled into the starting XI.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

Sanchez’s form has been up and down throughout the campaign. Yet, he’ll be paired with Alderweireld in Tottenham’s defence.

Ben Davies (LB)

Davies has been a reliable figure in Spurs’ defence for the last few years. The Welshman is a certainty to start at left-back against Burnley.

Harry Winks (CM)

Winks has been a regular fixture in Tottenham’s midfield over the last couple of months. The England international should retain his place in Mourinho’s XI.

Tanguy Ndombele (CM)

Injuries have hampered Ndombele’s debut campaign at Tottenham. Now fit, the Frenchman will be raring to make an impact and help his team win three crucial points at Turf Moor.

Gedson Fernandes (LW)

Fernandes came on as a substitute against Norwich in the FA Cup and impressed. The on-loan Portuguese midfielder could be stationed on the left flank on Saturday.

Giovani Lo Celso (CAM)

An energetic and hardworking player, Lo Celso will be a key presence for Spurs in opening up Burnley’s stubborn backline. The Argentine will start in the No.10 role.

Erik Lamela (RW)

Lamela was guilty of missing a penalty during the shootout against Norwich in the FA Cup. However, the recently turned 28-year-old will be raring to make amends at Burnley.

Dele Alli (ST)

After a fine start under Mourinho, Alli’s form has dipped massively. He’ll be keen to regain his scoring touch on Saturday and guide his club to all three points.
