WWE error allowed Aleister Black (Malakai Black) to make AEW debut despite non-compete clause

Aleister Black came out as Malakai Black on his AEW debut and every one is asking about his non-compete clause

AEW fans were in for a surprise as Malakai Black (FKA Aleister Black) made a shocking debut on Dynamite.

Black, who was released by WWE just over a month back, was quick to make a statement. He attacked Arn Anderson and Cody Rhodes with two Black Mass’ and well, people just couldn’t believe what was going on.

Black was one of the top stars on WWE but was cut from the company in its latest set of releases.

However, there were rumours of him returning to WWE but those were quickly quashed.

The big question regarding his move to AEW is the non-compete clause. Normally any star that is released by WWE has a standard 90-day clause, but that seems to be 30 days for Black’s case.

WWE made a mistake with non-compete clause of Aleister Black

PWI was quick to report of what actually happened with Black. The report claims that when Black was moved from NXT to the main roster, WWE failed to update his non-compete clause.

NXT stars have a 30-day clause while those on the main roster have 90-days. This error in Black’s contract is a boon for AEW and it is to be seen if any of the other WWE releases have had this mistake in their contracts.

Nevertheless, this was an excellent surprise from AEW and Black had shared a vignette just before the airing of Dynamite.

His rivalry with Rhodes would be something great as well, but WWE surely dropped the ball on this one.

Black has all the talent to be one of the best ever, and hopefully, he gets the right push and platform on AEW.
