Henry is currently in an analyst role and has stayed away from wrestling. Appearing on the Battleground Podcast, Henry confirmed he was going to wrestle but he needed to deal with some injuries before returning: (h/t Wrestling Inc)

“It’s definitely going to happen in AEW,” Henry said. “It’s not going to be any time soon I think. I want to be 100%. I’m still nursing injuries from four years ago. Wrestling business is a tough business, it’s not for everybody. Being in my home state it would be cool to be able to do that, just not at this current time.”

He will be on the new show Rampage, as a commentator and will fulfill his duties as the Performance Coach behind the scenes. Henry spent more than three decades in wrestling, but finally made the bold move when he moved to AEW. He revealed that he ended on good terms with WWE and Vince McMahon, who wished him well for his future.

Henry also wants to be the best commentator and compete with the likes of Michael Cole and Jim Ross, who have owned the stage for years.

Henry in the interview explains his reasons to AEW doing well in recent months, saying:

“These AEW shows, they’re not selling out for no reason. They’re selling out because people know they’re getting quality entertainment, that they’re going to be part of something that could be the number one company in the world one day. Don’t you want to be part of something that has fire and flame to it? AEW is where it’s at.”

AEW has only been around for two years, but is already matching WWE in merchandising and ticket sales. With more big names to follow, the future is looking bright for Tony Khan.
