Hikaru Shida will feature in one of the several wrestling games confirmed by AEW

AEW has set its stall with three new wrestling games as it battles WWE for this title. While there is a battle on Wednesday night between NXT and AEW, this will be another field for the two wrestling giants to battle.

Japanese promotions have their own games, which are different from the 2K ones produced by WWE. Cody Rhodes, Britt Baker, Kenny Omega and Audrey Edwards were all dressed up as Steve Jobs as they revealed details of the kind of games.

Rhodes explained that the three games will cover almost every aspect of the gaming world. The main console game is based on WWE No Mercy, a classic from the Nintendo 64 era but with updated graphics, and the game is considered as the greatest ever.

The other two games seem to be mobile ones, something that WWE have also moved into.

Shida loves the game

Hikaru Shida is the current AEW Women’s Champion and one of the best female talents in the business.

She spoke about the games with Japanese outlets and posted that this was a dream for her. Shida also explained one aspect of the main console game and how Yuke’s captured the moves extremely well.

Shida also featured in one of the clips for the game and her Falcon Arrow was the highlight in all this:

“What I surprised most is they researched wrestlers movements really really well..!

“That Falcon arrow was not just Falcon arrow, my Falcon arrow!!!

“Can’t wait to play”

Yuke’s were responsible for the hugely popular WWE games such as Here Comes the Pain! and Shut Your Mouth.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the main console game but they should have great inputs from Omega and the likes.

Omega is a fan of video games too and hopefully, AEW knocks it out of the park with their games. WWE was the master of all this, however, the recent WWE 2K releases have been way below par and there is a chance for AEW to claim this crown.
