Sting was one of the biggest addition in the history of AEW when he debuted in December

In a moment that broke the internet, Sting returned after 18 years on TNT network as he debuted on AEW at Winter is Coming in December.

The 61-year-old has lived up to his nickname of ‘The Vigilante’ as he has often come to rescue of the ‘good guys’ in distress. However, the roles change on the 23rd December episode of Dynamite.

This time, it was Sting in distress, and Darby Allin came to his rescue to fend off Taz’s men. Ever since that moment, the duo’s alliance has captured the imagination of wrestling fans.

Mark Henry even predicts that Sting and Darby Allin would go on to form a stable on the show. However, this is yet to materialize.

Dave LaGreca thinks Darby Allin will benefit on AEW by teaming up with Sting

Speaking on this week’s episode of the Busted Open Podcast, LaGreca says that Sting’s return to AEW was a massive moment and would prove to be extra beneficial for one man in particular.

“Unlike some of the returns we have seen in pro wrestling, I do believe this is going to take Darby Allin to another level.”

Comparing Sting with Chris Jericho, he further states that ‘The Stinger’ can make Allin a ‘main event-er’, just as Chris Jericho did with Orange Cassidy.

“Jericho took Orange Cassidy and Orange Cassidy was no longer just a gimmick but somebody that could be a main event-er. That’s what is going to happen with Darby Allin with Sting.”

LaGreca has hit the nail on its head with his prediction. Allin is already one of the most popular AEW wrestlers and his association with a legend like Sting will only take his career further.

Tommy Dreamer agreed with the notion that Allin would grow with the help of Sting. However, it is to be seen if he teams up with Sting or takes on The Icon on AEW.
