CM Punk drops massive Daniel Bryan reference on AEW Dynamite

New AEW Superstar CM Punk lifted the lid on the signing of Daniel Bryan with a teaser of a statement during his debut on Dynamite.

Punk was talking to Tony Schiavone about Darby Allin and was full of praises for his opponent at All Out. He was quoted saying: “He’s not the biggest or strongest, but he’s got heart. And when it comes to facing someone like me, it makes me think “Can CM Punk still go? Is he still the best in the world?””

This was followed by the fans dishing out the Yes Chants. Punk responded with a cryptic message asking the fans to wait a little longer.

“That’s someone else’s schtick and you might have to be a little more patient”

Punk is set to face Darby Allin at All Out on September 5 at the NOW Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The duo of Bryan and Punk go back a long way to Ring of Honor. The signing of both men to AEW would be one of the biggest statements made by the company.

Bryan was in WWE for many years, but was forced to retire due to multiple surgeries and injuries. He overcame all odds to return and win the WWE Championship, a feat which was almost impossible. After his recent run in WWE, he was rumored to refuse another contract and weigh his options.

What does Bryan bring to AEW?

Daniel Bryan arguably has been one of the best wrestlers in the world. In his time in WWE, he has achieved massive feats like winning at WrestleMania to become the WWE World Heavyweight Championship among other accolades. Bryan’s entry into AEW will shake the wrestling world off its feet.
