Adam Cole called CM Punk his dream opponent for a matchup
AEW Superstar Adam Cole has recently opened up about his dream opponent and it happens to be CM Punk. Cole made his AEW debut around the same time as Punk and has revealed how a match against Punk is his dream match.
Cole was recently a guest on the #Dork podcast and discussed his potential matches in the future. When asked about Punk, Cole went on to say:
“That’s my dream match. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it a thousand times, if I had a personal, I am not saying this is the definitive Mount Rushmore, but if I had a personal Mount Rushmore as far as wrestlers who have influenced me, CM Punk is on that list. He made me focus on promos, he introduced me to independent wrestling.
“I never in a million years thought I’d get the chance to maybe step into the ring with him, now the fact that’s a possibility, I’m going to be real sad if I don’t ever wrestle CM Punk.”
Cole certainly opened up on being inspired by Punk in his early days. He also feels like now that he has been signed to AEW, the match is a real possibility and that he will be really sad if Punk vs Cole doesn’t happen while he continues to wrestle.
Who is Adam Cole fighting on AEW Rampage?
It was recently announced that Cole will take on Adam Silver at the upcoming AEW Rampage this Friday night. The match was made official by Tony Khan earlier this week. It is said to be Cole’s toughest challenge in AEW so far.
