AEW Dynamite results, winners, grades, highlights and reaction 4 March 2020

AEW Dynamite results, winners, grades, highlights and reaction: This Dynamite episode was charged up as they welcomed their new champion Jon Moxley.

Moxley beat Chris Jericho at Revolution, and was ready to give a sermon to the thousands in attendance.

The new champ claimed that anyone wanting the new title would have to literally beat him to death for it, before Jericho came out.

Jericho also lamented that Moxley was faking his eye injury and the former champion had trained to fight someone who could see with one eye.

The Inner Circle member also added that he would leave the company for 60 days if Moxley left the night on his own.

Grade A

Jericho might be on the older side but he knows how to play the crowd. His promo was hot, just like Moxley’s and the stipulation brought in by the former champion kept fans interested for the rest of the night.

Colt Cabana & SCU vs The Dark Order

The Dark Order’s John Reynolds, Stu Grayson, Evil Uno and Alex Silver were up against new guy Colt Cabana and the SCU’s Frankie Kazarian, Scorpio Sky and Christopher Daniels.

The heel team did a great job of keeping Daniels in the middle of the ring for most of the match.

However, this match was bound to get a little crazy with Cabana picking up the win in the end.

Evil Uno was unhappy at how things ended and claimed that the “Exalted One” will roll some heads once he is back.

Colt Cabana & SCU beat Dark Order

Grade B

The match was great as all the competitors got time to shine and but it was questionable why Cabana was put into a tag match with the SCU.

Cabana picking up the pin for the win also made sense, while it will be interesting to see what the Exalted One has in store for the Dark Order.

Swole vs Bates

Dr Britt Baker was on the commentary team for this clash which saw Big Swole take on The Librarian Leva Bates.

The Librarian started brightly but Big Swole easily defeated her and picked up a quick win.

Swole beats Bates

Grade C

Having Baker on the commentary was a bit of a surprise but nothing great about the result. Swole does need to work on some aspects of her character, but this was an impressive win.

Cody deals with a Snake

MJF defeated Cody Rhodes at Revolution and The American Nightmare came out on the ring to speak out.

He called MJF out but it was the legendary Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts who answered the call. The former WWE star claimed he was going to bring a client to AEW.

Roberts warned that the ‘dark side’ will take over AEW and wanted to slay Rhodes too. He then claimed that you should never turn your back on a man that you respect or you’re afraid of, and did the same and left the ring.

Grade A

Not a lot of fighting in this but both men were in great form on the microphone. Roberts was excellent as he brought out a real fear for Rhodes while the American Nightmare could have nightmares of his own soon.

PAC forms a stable

It was Chuck Taylor (with Orange Cassidy and Trent by his side) taking on PAC.

The heel was on top for most of the match and wanted to pick up a win. He had a great match at Revolution against Cassidy.

This was an easy win for PAC but he got into a stare down with Cassidy after the clash. The Lucha Bros came out and attacked Cassidy and the rest while PAC warned AEW of the future.

PAC beats Taylor

Grade B

PAC winning this clash was expected given that he is one of the best in the business.

It will, however, be interesting to see how things develop with him and the Lucha Bros in the coming weeks.

Jake Hager’s Dynamite debut

Jake Hager made his Dynamite debut by facing QT Marshall. Hager had beaten Dustin Rhodes at Revolution and the former WWE star dominated early on.

Hager picked up the win over Marshall after a decent display and after the match. The Inner Circle then came to stop Dustin from saving Marshall and Cody also had to come up.

The Young Bucks came out also to make the save but it was Hangman Page that got the last word. He saved the faces but wasn’t too pleased with the Bucks. He flipped out to Matt Jackson and left the ring to celebrate some beers with the fans.

Hager beats Marshall

Grade B

Giving Hager the win on his debut made sense but it was a surprise that so many wrestlers had to come out for this segment.

Page and Jackson have their problems but it will be interesting to see how Hager does in the coming weeks.

Moxley in action against Jericho

Moxley teamed up with Darby Allin to take on Jericho and Sammy Guevara. However, as the new champion walked to the ring, he was attacked by three masked men, who turned out to the Inner Circle members.

Allin was now in a handicap match, and he fought really well but Jericho and Guevara were too good for him.

It seemed that Moxley was going to walk out on his own, as alluded at the start of the show, but he was powerbombed through a table and ended the night in a heap.

Jericho and Guevara beat Allin

Grade B

It was expected that the Inner Circle would do something to Moxley, and well, they made a huge statement.

Allin looks great as a singles competitor and put on a great show, even though it was a two-on-one situation.
