AEW Dynamite results and grades: AEW confirmed a new TNT Championship was all set and we got the first match of that bracket on this week’s show.

There was also a big match featuring Dr Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida while Brodie Lee, the Exalted One, was set to make his AEW debut too.

This AEW Dynamite was also held behind closed doors with no fans, and here are the results and grades for the show.

Lance Archer destroys

Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts cut a brilliant promo about how Lance Archer is here to topple over AEW. He also spoke about Cody Rhodes slipping and allowing Shawn Spears to win in their TNT Championship clash.

Archer then made his return to the ring with Chris Jericho doing commentary tonight. The Murderhawk Monster took on Alan Angels and easily won the squash match.

Archer beats Angels

Grade B

AEW have to show Archer as a monster and boy, did he look like one. A squash match with no story is something not to enjoy, but this was done for a reason and Archer has Cody in his sights.

Baker vs Shida

This was one match that everyone had their eyes on, especially after Shida and Baker’s meeting last week.

The two went hammer and tongs at each other and Baker also suffered a busted nose. Baker was bleeding a lot but that didn’t stop her from trying her best to win the clash.

Both women has close calls before Shida got the win thanks to a running knee.

Shida beats Baker

Grade A

Even with a buster nose, Baker kept on throwing the punches while Shida did her best too. There haven’t been too many great female bouts on AEW, but this one certainly was incredible as both women gave it their all.

Kenny Omega in action

AEW first showed a video package of next week’s No Holds Barred Match between Jon Moxley and Jake Hager.

Moxley will defend the AEW World Championship but the next match featured Kenny Omega and Michael Nakazawa facing Chuck Taylor and Trent with Orange Cassidy beside them.

With The Best Friend and Nakazawa in the ring, you can never expect a normal match. The quartet threw in some funny spots as they made a spectacle of the match.

In the end, it was The Best Friends who picked up the win after Nakazawa inadvertently hit Omega.

Best Friends beat Omega and Nakazawa

Grade B

This was a fun match and took away some of the seriousness that was on show at the start of AEW.

It was a little surprising that Omega actually lost the match despite being one-half of the tag champions, but it was great seeing Nakazawa get some time in the ring.

Jericho gets a challenge

There were two more video packages from AEW with Brodie Lee first speaking to his minions but the next one was important.

Matt Hardy spoke from his compound and challenged Jericho to an Elite Deletion match.

Grade B

Both vignettes did their bit as Lee continued being the crazy leader of the group while Hardy challenging Jericho was the next logical step in their feud.

Lee demolishes a jobber

This match was over as soon as it started as Lee destroyed Lee Johnson in a few minutes.

Brodie Lee beats Lee Johnson

Grade B

AEW has to push Lee as one of the best in the ring and it was great seeing him in action. He could have gotten more time to show off his skills, but the Exalted One certainly looks like that.

TNT Championship Quarter-final match

Spears and Cody have a rivalry stemming in AEW from a while back. It was Spears who got the early advantage but the American Nightmare then came roaring back.

Spears then dominated the rest of the match and even sent Cody through a table, but it was the American Nightmare that picked up the win in the end.

Cody beats Spears

Grade B

It was great seeing Spears and Cody have a proper fight on AEW. However, it was a surprise that neither Archer or Darby Allin made a move after last week’s results.

Spears looked good in the ring and hopefully, we get to see more of him on AEW too.
