AEW and WWE Rumor roundup 9 Mar 2022: Cody Rhodes might still have a shot at WWE according to the latest rumors

One of the hottest stories in the pro-wrestling world is the future of Cody Rhodes. The former AEW star left WWE to start the rival promotion. However, in a shocking turn of events, he did not re-sign with AEW and left the company.

Things have been a little weird regarding where he could end up with WWE being an on and off option. However, there seems to be another rumor regarding the same, and here are the best pro-wrestling titbits that could turn out to be true.

1) WWE want Cody Rhodes answer soon

Dave Meltzer (h/t Cagesideseats) has claimed that WWE wants an answer from Cody Rhodes quickly.

The report claims that Rhodes has several options on the table, and it is to be seen where he goes. Recent reports even suggested a return to AEW could take place. Rhodes was one of the reasons AEW was created, and it will be interesting to see where he might end up as the saga continues.

2) Cody Rhodes taking his own time

While one report says that WWE wants an answer soon, Fightful Select claims that Rhodes knows all the rumors floating about. However, he isn’t keen on taking a decision anytime soon and even downplayed any possible talks of a move. Safe to say, this story will continue for some time.

3) Sycho Sid in the WWE Hall of Fame?

The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony kicks off WrestleMania weekend, and there could be a big story coming out from it. Andrew Zarian recently tweeted that Sycho Sid could be on his way to the Hall of Fame.

Sid was an interesting character during the 90s and the early 2000s. He would crush opponents and even held the top titles in WWE and WCW.

The 2022 edition of the Hall of Fame ceremony already has a couple of huge names getting inducted. Vader and The Undertaker are set to be inducted and there could be a few more big names to follow suit.

4) Cutting down the Hall of Fame

WrestleMania was a long event and it was smart of WWE to break it into two days. However, it seems they have plans to cut short the Hall of Fame Ceremony as well.

Wrestling Observer Radio claimed that the wrestling company is trying to keep the ceremony to 90 minutes in 2022.

This could mean that some inductees could be inducted digitally. That could be a very short video package or a speech.

5) Changes in AEW title match

AEW Revolution saw a lot of great action and one of those saw the match between Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa.

While it was Baker who held onto the AEW Women’s World title, thanks to some help from Rebel and Jamie Hayter, Fightful claims that this match saw several changes ahead of the PPV.

The changes were related to the finish of the match which saw Rebel and Hayter distracting the referee enough for Baker to win.
