Premier League Opinion: Two ideal PL landing spots for Benito Raman

Benito Raman is a 24-year-old Belgian winger, who currently plies his trade for Fortuna Düsseldorf in the German Bundesliga. He is a Belgian youth international and has represented and scored at the U21 level but is yet to be capped by the first-team.

While he is a left-winger by trade, his versatility allows him to play anywhere across the front-line, in the midfield or even as a full-back. He has played multiple positions for Dusseldorf this season as per the requirements of the manager and wherever he has been utilised, the results have been exceptional.

The former Standard Liege man was only bought by the Bundesliga side at the start of the current season and the numbers he’s notched up during his first season as a permanent player of the club have certainly been commendable as well.

His 25 appearances in the Düsseldorf first team have yielded 9 goals and a further 3 assists. Considering that a lot of his opportunities have been off the bench, these figures don’t tell the full story of his ability. He is a tricky winger, who has the ability to beat a man for pace.

His trickery and movement on the ball make him nearly impossible to defend against and his ability to find the top corner from long distances is one of his greatest assets. He has scored some special goals in the red kit of Fortuna Düsseldorf this season and this has earned him a lot of admirers.

According to a report by The Sun, a host of top Premier League clubs have been watching the young Belgian’s progress over the season. Arsenal and Everton are in the driving seat with regard to a summer transfer to England.

Here are the two clubs said to be keen on signing the versatile Belgian sensation:

Arsenal

Unai Emery has led Arsenal through some tough times. Looking at the current situation, things haven’t gone all too badly for them. With a European cup still in their sights, they have done well to reach where they are. But the fact that Alex Iwobi still remains their only identified winger is an alarming cause for concern.

Benito Raman

Moving for Benito Raman can be a shrewd move by Emery, considering that his versatility allows him to be utilised anywhere across the front-line.

With Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette to support him, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t make the switch to the Emirates in the summer and immediately flourish.

Everton

The Merseyside club’s fortunes this season haven’t been great and many results that should’ve gone their way along the course of the campaign just seemed to fizzle away at the dying seconds.

While Richarlison is their main attacking outlet, they have struggled to find creativity from elsewhere at times this term.

Benito Raman can be the ideal man to bring and to try and add something new into this already potent Toffees’ attack. More than capable of playing at striker as well, Raman has the right attributes to come into Marco Silva’s Everton side and take over a place in next season’s starting XI.
