Wolves must secure a January move for Adam Reach
As per a report from The Sun, Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers are keeping tabs on Sheffield Wednesday winger Adam Reach with a January move being lined up.
Wolves have made a fairly solid start on their return to the top flight, sitting in the 11th spot with 16 points from 12 games, which includes impressive draws against Manchester City and Manchester United.
However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have lost their previous three matches in a row, followed by a 1-1 draw against Arsenal, prompting the manager to consider adding quality when the January transfer window comes rolling. And he seems to have identified Reach as a viable transfer target. (h/t The Sun)
The 25-year-old winger is a product of the Middlesbrough academy and after having had loan spells away at Darlington FC (now liquidated), Shrewsbury Town, Bradford City and Preston North End, he left the Teessiders on a permanent basis to join Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2016.
Since moving to the Hillsborough, Reach immediately established himself as a mainstay in the team and has gone on to make 111 appearances so far for the Owls, scoring 12 times and setting up 18 more. The Englishman ended the 2017/18 term with impressive returns of 4 goals and 12 assists even as Wednesday finished 15th.
Reach has started the 2018/19 campaign on a strong note and has already breached his best goal tally for a season, finding the back of the net on five occasions in 16 matches across all competitions. He has also set up two more, despite Jos Luhukay’s men struggling in the Championship.
A versatile customer, Reach can play on either flank and has been used as a wing-back on the left side as well as a left-back on a number of occasions in his career. The 25-year-old can also comfortably slot in as a central midfielder or in the No.10 role as well, offering a multitude of options for the manager.
The Englishman’s biggest strength is the regularity and the consistency with which he keeps hitting pinpoint crosses into the box, while his ability to find the back of the net from long range is a major plus point as well. Pace, strength, industry, coupled with quality end product make him an asset for any team he would play for.
Wolves have a number of options in the wide areas with the likes of Helder Costa, Ivan Cavaleiro, Diogo Jota and Adama Traore. However, the four of them combined have managed to score just two goals in the Premier League this season.

Hence, adding another source of goals from the flanks wouldn’t be the worst idea for Wolves. And considering Reach’s form, the 25-year-old fits the bill perfectly. Thus, Wolves should launch a bid for the Englishman in January.
