However, there are a few facts about the former MVP winner that you may not be aware of. Today we have five that may surprise you a little.

1.Desired to play for the Toronto Raptors

Vince Carter, who was playing for the Toronto Raptors at the time, was one of Durant’s childhood basketball heroes. Naturally, Durant had a soft spot for the Raptors and aspired to play for them once he entered the NBA.

In the end, it was the Seattle SuperSonics who selected Durant with the second overall pick in 2007. In case you’re wondering, Greg Oden was selected first overall in that draught, and the Raptors didn’t even have a pick that year.

Ironically, it was Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors who ended Durant’s highly successful tenure with the Warriors, defeating the dynasty-seeking Dubs in an unforgettable Finals series in 2019. Durant packed his belongings and left for the Brooklyn Nets shortly after that series loss.

2.Texas has honoured him by retiring his jersey

Despite the fact that Durant only played one season for the Texas Longhorns, his jersey number was retired by the school. However, it was a memorable year for Durant, who averaged 25.8 points (on 47.3 percent shooting), 11.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.9 blocks per game, while also connecting on 2.3 triples per game on a 40.4-percent clip.

3.Photographer, Kevin Durant

KD developed an interest in photography after receiving a camera for his 27th birthday. He carried his camera everywhere and even covered Super Bowl 50 for The Players’ Tribune as a credentialed photographer!

4.KD the musician

How did KD spend his time during the 2011 NBA lockout? Making music with LeBron! That’s right, the two got together in an Ohio studio and recorded a song about their paths to the NBA. Years later, in 2018, “It Ain’t Easy” was finally released!

5.He Won 4 Scoring Titles In 5 Years

Durant’s scoring abilities deserve special recognition. It’s impressive enough to win a single scoring title, but Durant did so four times in five years. Even more impressive, he won three of them in a row.
