Why West Ham should absolutely sign Moussa Dembele
According to The Sun, West Ham boss David Moyes remains a fan of Moussa Dembele of Lyon. The forward has been reported to be frustrated at being left out of games. Even Lyon are open to the idea of selling him. Dembele has been a long-term target for Manchester United.

Moussa Dembele is a 24-year-old French forward who plays for Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon. He started his youth career at US Cergy Clos in 2002 and moved to Paris St. Germain’s youth setup after 2 years.
Spending most of his youth career there, he progressed through the youth sides and was promoted to the U-17’s in 2011. The following season, he was sold to Fulham and was drafted to their U-18 side. While he was a part of the U-18s, he was called up to the senior side and managed to play two Premier League games.
In total, he appeared in 64 games for the Cottagers, scored 19 goals and assisted 9. Celtic signed him on a free in 2016 and what a good bit of investment he went on to become. He played 94 games for the Scottish giants while contributing to a staggering 69 goals.
At the start of the 2018-19 season, he made the move to France with Lyon and kept up his good form in front of goal. So far, he has made over 100 appearances while scoring 44 goals and assisting another 13 (source – Transfermarkt). The forward has been a regular for the France youth sides but is yet to be called up to the senior side.
West Ham need a prolific striker like Dembele
Sebastian Haller is yet to convince David Moyes that he can be a reliable option up top for the Hammers. With that scenario, Moyes has had to rely on Michail Antonio for the bulk of their goals. Having just one in-form striker in a team that is regularly involved in relegation dog fights isn’t exactly a great situation to be in.
Signing a player like Dembele could help the issue. The forward is one of Europe’s most prolific strikers currently and has also been made available by Lyon. You don’t need to be a genius to see that it is a great opportunity to sign him. West Ham could really use a player like Dembele who has been scoring at a tremendous rate since his move to Celtic.
