Jon Jones is going to have a title shot in his first UFC Heavyweight fight it seems

Dana White, the UFC president, was busy with media duties as he spoke with TMZ recently.

The president is hyping up UFC 258 but there are questions regarding some of their top stars. Jon Jones, possibly the greatest UFC Light Heavyweight, has moved up a division and he seems set for a huge fight.

Jones hasn’t made his debut in the division as he is bulking up, and White was asked who could be the first rival for the former champion.

The former UFC Light Heavyweight champion never lost his belt in a fight and wants to be a double champion.

However, Jones already has something in his mind. White confirmed that Jones was looking at the winner of Francis Ngannou vs Stipe Miocic:

“We know what he wants. He wants the winner of Stipe [Miocic] and Francis [Ngannou], so that fight is going to happen first.”

White was then pressed if Jones was going to get that fight, and the president had a simple answer:

“Yup.”

Miocic is the champion and considered as one of the greatest Heavyweights ever. However, Ngannou is a force to be reckoned with and the Cameroon-French star would be looking to avenge his earlier loss to Miocic.

Jon Jones next fight could be in 2021

The next big question was when will Jones fight next? He hasn’t fought since defeating Dominick Reyes and keeping his belt but it seems he could be up for action later in the year.

White believed this could happen in 2021 but that depended on how Miocic vs Ngannou would happen. If this title fight took place before the summer, then Jones would be in action in summer of 2021.

Jones has been itching to get a second belt and it will be interesting to see who wins between Miocic and Ngannou.

Ngannou has the strength and power advantage but Miocic has been excellent in the Heavyweight division and already has a win over his rival.

Jones getting the winner of this clash would get a shot at the belt, and he could become a double champion before the end of 2021.
