WWE Clash of Champions 2020 Results and Grades: The main talking point ahead of WWE Clash of Champions 2020 was Roman Reigns turning heel and defending his Universal title against cousin, Jey Uso.

While that served as the main event, there were many titles being defended. However, Nikki Cross, who was to battle Bayley for the SmackDown title wasn’t on the show.

Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, the Women’s tag champions were also out, meaning that those belts couldn’t be defended.

Nevertheless, WWE didn’t share why they were out but here are the results and grades from Clash of Champions 2020:

SmackDown tag title clash

Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura defended their SmackDown tag titles against Lince Dorado and Kalisto.

It were the champions who kept the title after some great moves by Cesaro and Nakamura.

Nakamura and Cesaro beat Kalisto and Dorado

Grade B

This was a decent way to kick off the show and the result was expected. However, there was no break up from Lucha House Party but that should be coming soon.

Ladder match for IC title

Sami Zayn and AJ Styles were looking to win the Intercontinental title from Jeff Hardy in a ladder match.

As expected with any ladder match, there was a ton of crazy moves and weapons used.

Zayn turned to his genius nature to lock Styles and Hardy with handcuffs and picked up the title high atop the ladder.

Zayn beats Hardy and Styles

Grade A

WWE know how to do quality ladder matches and they had three of the best performers giving it their all.

There were some hard-hitting moves with some creative spots too. It was a near perfect match and the trio should fight again for the title.

Raw Women’s title match

Asuka defended her Raw Women’s title against Zelina Vega next.

Vega had come looking confident into this and believed she would defeat the Empress of Tomorrow. However, it was Asuka that won the match by using her Asuka lock.

She tried to shake hands with Vega after the clash but La Muneca attacked her rival and left.

Asuka beats Vega

Grade B

Vega winning the title would have been a major surprise but she performed extremely well.

Asuka needs a new rival for the Raw title, but there was more to come from her on Clash of Champions.

US title clash

Bobby Lashley took on Apollo Crews as the All Mighty tried to keep the title from the former champion.

Lashley, the champion, came out with Shelton Benjamin and MVP while Ricochet was alongside Crews.

The champion had an answer for everything that Crews threw at him and won via the Hurt Lock.

Lashley beats Crews

Grade B

This was another decent match but there was nothing special in all this.

Raw tag title match

Andrade and Angel Garza had the chance to win the tag titles from the Street Profits, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford.

The quartet put on quite a show before it seemed that Garza picked up a serious knee injury in this clash and that affected the result.

The referee botched the finish as Andrade had his hand up before the three count but the Profits retained the title.

Profits beat Andrade and Garza

Grade B

This was another quality match on the PPV but the concern would be about Garza.

The high-flyer was one of the bright spots on Raw and hopefully, he isn’t out for long. The botched finish should allow Andrade and Garza another shot at the titles, whenever they are back.

Bayley gets a surprise rival

R-Truth and Drew Gulak exchanged the 24/7 title in between all this.

Bayley knew that Cross was out of the SmackDown Women’s title clash. She sat confidently in the ring but Asuka took her out and the referee called for the bell.

Asuka seemed set to win the second title too but Bayley used a chair leading to a DQ. However, Sasha Banks made a return and attacker her former friend until she ran back.

Asuka beats Bayley

Grade B

Asuka winning the second title would have been great. However, WWE seems to be setting up a title clash between Bayley and Banks.

The match was great and it would have gotten a better grade had it not been for the DQ.

WWE title ambulance match

Drew McIntyre, the champion, took on Randy Orton in an ambulance match.

The match saw a lot of craziness as both stars tried to get the other into the ambulance. Shawn Michaels made an appearance too as he kicked Orton.

In fact, Orton was attacked by a couple of other WWE legends. The Viper still recovered and almost got McIntyre in the ambulance but couldn’t close the doors.

McIntyre was able to turn it around and got the win in the end, and even hit a claymore on Orton before shutting the door.

McIntyre beats Orton

Grade B

This match was a decent one and both stars did their best, but something didn’t seem to click enough.

There was a ton of dangerous spots too but Michaels interfering was interesting.

Universal title clash

Jey didn’t want things to go down as they were and wanted a proper match. However, Reigns was expressionless for the most part.

The champ beat down his cousin a lot and wanted him to accept Reigns as the Tribal Chief. Jey refused to do so and the beating continued.

Jimmy Uso hobbled out and wanted to throw in the towel for his brother but Jey stopped him from doing that.

Reigns claimed that this all could stop if he was accepted as the Tribal Chief but Jey wouldn’t accept it. The beating continued until Jimmy threw in the towel.

Reigns beats Jey

Grade A

This match was all about the story. Reigns has become the top heel in WWE and this was another great performance.

Reigns took apart his cousin, signalling that there is no one that will come in his way as he remains on the top.
