Why Giovanni Reyna would be a good future investment for Liverpool
According to The Mirror, Liverpool are monitoring Borussia Dortmund youngster Giovanni Reyna to sign for the future.
The report suggests that the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is looking to potential transfers for the future and Reyna has come under the radars of Liverpool. The youngster’s contract with the German outfit comes to an end next summer.
Born in England, Reyna started his journey with New York City FC in the USA before joining Dortmund’s U19 squad last summer. He impressed with the youth side and made his way into the senior set-up last January. So far, he has made 17 appearances despite his tender age and has shown immense potential.
He scored a goal for Dortmund in the German Cup and also assisted Erling Haaland in their win against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League a few months back. The 17-year-old is one of the most highly regarded young talents across Europe.
Reyna has also represented the USA at various youth levels from U15 to U23 and has also captained the youth sides on several occasions.
Reyna – A future creative head for Liverpool
The Reds have been quiet in the transfer window so far, bringing in just one player. Kostas Tsimikas was signed last month as a backup for Andy Robertson on the left side of the defence. However, with the financial crisis created by the pandemic, it would be wise if the club invested in the youth.
At the moment, Liverpool have a plethora of midfield and attacking talents in their ranks. And most of them were in sensational form in their league title-winning campaign. However, the manager should look to improve the squad for the future. Thus, making a move for Reyna could pay off well in the upcoming seasons.
He is one of the most exciting young talents in Europe and is seen as a future prospect. He has already made his senior bow and has got some experience under his belt. And Liverpool could further develop him by using him in the reserve squads. He has the ability to succeed at a high level and the Reds should not miss the opportunity to sign him.
The 17-year-old is an attacking midfielder by trade but is also capable of operating in the wide areas. And his versatility could be a massive boost for the squad in the future. He could develop himself under the guidance of someone like Klopp and could go on to be Liverpool’s creative head in the future.

- Why Diego Carlos would be a fantastic addition to Liverpool
At 17, he has already shown immense potentials and should only get better with experience. And investing in the youth could help the Premier League champions reap rewards in the future. Thus, they should manage to lure Reyna to Anfield at the earliest and keep him for the future.
