Why Sheffield United should invest in Jayden Bogle for the future
As per Football Insider (h/t Derbyshire Live), Sheffield United are keen to make a move for Derby County youngster Jayden Bogle ahead of the new season.
Born in England, Bogle started his journey with Swindon Town before flourishing through the ranks of Derby County’s youth system. He made his debut in the 2018/19 campaign and immediately established himself as a key player under then-manager Frank Lampard.
He enjoyed a brilliant debut season, racking up 2 goals and 9 assists in 40 league games and helped his side reach the finals of the Championship playoffs that season. His impressive performances also earned him the Young Player of the Year award in 2018/19.
The youngster rise to the top has been rather swift and he is one of the key players in the. However, with just two more years left on his contract with the Rams, Sheffield United should succeed in taking Bogle on board.
Bogle could provide Sheffield United with depth
Chris Wilder managed to get the best out of his side last season, beating all odds as the Blades finished 9th position in the league standings. However, it is time for the manager to look to progress in the top-flight and aim for European qualification. And for that to happen, they need to bring in reinforcements and add depth to several key areas.
One area which needs to be strengthened is the right-back position. At the moment, George Baldock is the only option available in that position. The Englishman was brilliant throughout the last season, featuring in every league game. However, he has no proper backup, and thus, Sheffield should consider bringing in right-back this summer.
In that regard, Bogle would be a fantastic option for the future. He could be a useful addition to Wilder’s squad. His inclusion would add depth to the Blades’ backline while he could also compete with Baldock for the first-choice right-back spot.
Moreover, he could go on to represent them in the long run if he is able to develop under the guidance of Wilder.

With limited options at the back, it is clear that the Blades are in dire need of right-backs. And investing in youth could help them reap rewards in the future. Thus, they should go all out to sign Bogle this summer.
