Opinion: Arsenal simply shouldn’t lose their £110k-a-week key star amidst Ligue 1 links

Why Arsenal must keep hold of Hector Bellerin amid PSG links

According to a report from the Express, French champions PSG are keeping an eye on Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin.

The 25-year-old Bellerin has been an Arsenal regular having spent the last nine years in North London. The Spanish right-back moved to the Emirates in 2011 after leaving boyhood club Barcelona and has gone on to become one of the fan favourites and enjoys a pretty large fan base.

Bellerin has been in and out of the team in recent times due to regular injuries. But that hasn’t stopped the interests of clubs across Europe in pursuing the player.

The Spanish international has made only 14 Premier League appearances this season as the players progress over the past 18 months has been hampered with injuries.

Should Arsenal sell Bellerin?

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta continues to take Arsenal through a difficult transitional phase. The Gunners look set to miss out on Champions League football for a fourth season in a row, after the unlucky draw against Leicester City.

Without Champions League football, Arsenal might find it difficult to bring in top class players in the summer. Furthermore, finances have been affected due to the pandemic. Given the situation, they must keep hold of their key players and Bellerin is one such star who they should not sell.

Since his debut for Arsenal, Bellerin has gone on to on to establish himself as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League. Also as a matter of fact the player has shown great pace and good ability to take on the opposition.

Conclusion

Given the current situation, Arsenal cannot simply let Bellerin move. The player has been the first-choice right-back and knows the team inside and out. His presence would be very vital going ahead.

He has shown his ability for a number of years now and can be an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s rebuilding plans. Therefore, Arsenal must do everything they can to keep Bellerin at the Emirates for the foreseeable future.
