Why West Ham should reconsider their decision to offload the promising Grady Diangana

West Ham United could be selling Grady Diangana in the upcoming transfer window according to Claret and Hugh (h/t Birmingham Mail).

The report suggests that West Brom are keen on securing the signing of the player. And West Ham are looking for a fee of £20m to complete the deal.

Diangana has been a part of West Brom on loan and has found the net on 5 occasions. He has been involved in 6 other goals as well. He has shown his qualities at West Brom before he missed a few games due to an injury in January.

The former English U21 international has impressed so far during his loan spell and has shown promises to be a future star. The player moved to West Brom to get enough minutes to play and has possibly found the best environment and has flourished. Diangana’s loan spell so far has been great for both the player and the club.

West Ham transfer perspective – A good or a bad move?

In Diangana, West Ham have someone with eccentric pace. The player has also proved himself at West Brom and is only 22.

The player can prove to be a great asset to the club and with Noble already 33, the player can also be considered for a future in the holding midfield position, other his natural right midfield/wing position.

The youngster has worked incredibly hard and can also prove to be good competition for Bowen on the right, who is also young (23).

During his time on loan so far the player has shown his ability on the break and has the potential to improve and become a big player at either of the clubs. But Championship is a different ball game compared to the Premier League and that might be something in the mind of West Ham. Nevertheless, for £20m, this could be a very good deal for both West Ham and West Brom.

The Verdict

For Grady Diangana, minutes are so important because the player is young and can get better. He will prefer to be at a club where he would get game time. As for West Ham, there is no reason for them to sell a player of this calibre and talent.

The player is young and has shown the hunger and intent to perform. Only time will tell if the deal, in case it happens, proves to be a good choice.
