(Watch) Jon Jones shares timeline for next weight lift after clearing 505 pounds

Jon Jones had promised to squat 500 pounds recently

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones is doing his bit to stay in shape by squatting weights.

The American has been under lockdown for a while due to the coronavirus outbreak. However, that hasn’t stopped him from working out and even hunting.

Jones is one of the best MMA fighters in the history of the sport, and he keeps reaching new levels.

The American recently squatted over 300 pounds and was at it again, suggesting that he cleared 505 pounds.

A user said that this was too easy a lift for Jones and asked him to hit the 600-pound mark.

However, Jones had the answer ready for his next weight lift and said he would reach the mark within a month’s time:

“Haha give me a month or so”

Jones is nearly untouchable in the Light Heavyweight division and it seems he has his eyes set on another prize.

Heavyweight division calling?

Jones has been insistent on fighting Francis Ngannou in the heavyweight division. He has even suggested that this be for the title, but that cannot happen as Stipe Miocic is the champion.

Miocic is to fight Daniel Cormier and defend his title, and Ngannou is waiting in the wings for another title shot too.

Ngannou was impressive in a recent bout against Jairzinho Rozenstruik, and it will be interesting to see if the French-Cameroonian star gets another crack.

Jones and Ngannou recently voiced their frustrations with the UFC. The pair claimed that the promotion isn’t interested in making their fight a reality, and that got both of them upset.

They were also unhappy about the money being offered while Ngannou voiced his frustrations at not getting a title shot.

Jones would have to go up a division to take on Ngannou, and that could be a fight for the ages. The Light Heavyweight champion certainly is doing a lot of work and hopefully, all this training does lead to something great.
