WWE Raw Results and Grades: The big talking point on this week’s Raw was seeing Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins sign their contract for Money in the Bank 2020.

Rollins has targeted the new WWE Champion since McIntyre won the gold at WrestleMania. The Monday Night Messiah has some help from his partners in AOP and Murphy, and they would have played a role in what happened later in the day.

There were some interesting matches too as WWE press on for Money in the Bank, and here are this week’s WWE Raw results and grades.

Vega’s crew vs MITB challengers

MVP started off the show with his VIP Lounge which featured the three men from Raw who will participate in the Money in the Bank 2020 match.

Apollo Crews, Rey Mysterio and Aleister Black were all ready to speak up before Zelina Vega came out with Andrade, Austin Theory and Angel Garza.

She wanted the trio to put their place in MITB on the line against her team, and that led to a brawl.

A six-man match was sanctioned right after this with chaos ensuing right at the end. It was Crews who ultimately picked up the win by pinning Andrade.

Grade B

It would have been something else if Vega’s team were able to switch places with the trio, but that was not to be.

This gave the MITB competitors a push ahead of the show, but it is another week where Vega’s boys were beaten down despite being a proper stable for a while.

Baszler vs Asuka vs Jax

Asuka came out to speak about how Nia Jax had injured her partner Kairi Sane earlier. However, Jax and Shayna Baszler came out for the triple threat match but it never got started.

The trio started beating each other up and it was Jax that was left standing tall. She used a ladder to beat down her opponents and later on in an interview said nothing can stop her from winning the Money in the Bank match.

Grade B

While it was disappointing not to see the match as promised earlier, this did prove that Jax is the dominant star from Raw’s women’s side for the MITB match.

It was a little upsetting to see Baszler get involved in all this when she had nothing to prove, but it will be interesting to see how the women do in the PPV.

Cracks in the Lashley household

Bobby Lashley was to face NXT rising star Denzel Dejournette. However, he told his wife and manager, Lana, to stay backstage as she was a distraction.

Lashley made light work of his opponent and picked up the easy win, but cracks are appearing between Lashley and Lana.

Grade C

WWE haven’t really done well with the Lashley-Lana storyline but at least they are trying to push the cracks between the pair.

Lana being left behind for the match proved that Lashley can win on his own, and if that is true, does he need the Ravishing Russian to come along anymore?

A riott ensues

Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott had a rematch after last week. It was Morgan that came out on top then but Riott dominated most of this clash as she tried to erase the memories of the loss from the previous edition of Raw.

However, Morgan hit the Oblivion to pick up the win. She later spoke in a backstage segment and wanted to find out who she really was.

Morgan beats Riott

Grade C

Morgan has been on a rise since WrestleMania and hopefully, she can move past her former Riott Squad member.

Thankfully, her angle with Lana has been forgotten too and she can concentrate on wrestling more.

The Maharaja is back

Jinder Mahal made his return to a WWE ring after almost a year. The former WWE Champion faced off against Akira Tozawa and was dominant picking up the win.

Grade B

It is easy to forget that Mahal was a WWE Champion, even though he wasn’t the greatest one. He can be a great heel on Raw, and it will be interesting to see what plans WWE has for him.

Crews fights again

Crews seemed to be pumped up after the win early in the evening and challenged US Champ Andrade for a singles match.

Vega agreed with the manager playing a role in distracting Crews allowing Andrade to take advantage. El Idolo kept putting up some hard knee strikes to keep Crews down,

However, Crews turned things around and was looking for a splash before injuring his knee and the referee had to call the match.

Andrade beats Crews

Grade A

Hopefully, Crews isn’t really injured and this is just a storyline. The high-flyer had been on the end of a great push recently and this could be a way to replace him with a bigger star for MITB.

Him missing out on MITB is a bit of a waste, however, it will be interesting to see who he is replaced with.

Ricochet and Cedric win again

Cedric Alexander and Ricochet have found their mojo as tag team partners. They were up against Ever-Rise as Matt Martel and Chase Parker put Ricochet in a corner.

However, Alexander got a tag in and picked up the win for the team. There was more to come as MVP announced on the screen that Shane Thorne and Brendan Vink has joined his group and wanted to fight Alexander and Ricochet again.

Alexander and Ricochet beat Parker and Martel

Grade B

MVP seems to have a lot of work on WWE in a non-wrestling capacity, and that could be a good thing. He was great on the mike always, and it will be interesting to see what the feud between the tag teams leads to.

Contract signing chaos

Seth Rollins came out and said he wanted to win the WWE Championship for the greater good but McIntyre wasn’t having any of it.

He attacked Rollins and then hit a claymore on Murphy to send a message to his rival.

Grade A

Rollins was great with his promo as he continues his Monday Night Messiah gimmick. Murphy finally had a role to play for his leader. And McIntyre looked like the dominant champion that WWE want him to be.

WWE Raw viewership ratings: Raw was ranked 2,3 and 7 in each of the three hours of the show this week.

It had an average of 1,817,000 viewers on the USA network. The breakup of the hourly TV figures are also listed below (h/t Showbuzz Daily):

First hour: 1,945,000

Second hour: 1,888,000
