Why Tottenham must plot a summer swoop for Serhou Guirassy
According to Daily Mail, Tottenham scouted Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy during the club’s dramatic 4-4 draw with Paris Saint-Germain. He scored twice in the 4-4 draw, including the late equalizer against PSG in what turned out to be a topsy-turvy game at the Stade de la Licorne on Saturday.
Serhou Guirassy, 23, has enjoyed a solid first season on Amiens’ books permanently after spending the previous campaign on loan at the club. He has scored eight goals in 21 top-flight games, including two against PSG at the weekend.
The report adds Tottenham’s chief scout Brian Carey attended the game to watch a number of players and was left impressed by Guirassy’s display.
Spurs manager Jose Mourinho was handed with a massive blow on Tuesday when forward Son Heung-min was ruled out for the season with a fractured arm. Son hurt his right arm during the early stages of Spurs’ win over Aston Villa on Sunday and although the forward completed the game and scored twice, he requires surgery.
This has left Tottenham short of options up front as Harry Kane is already on the sidelines due to a torn hamstring until mid-April. Lucas Moura remains the only option to play in the number nine role now, while 18-year-old Irish striker Troy Parrott is not ready to make an impact at the senior level.
Thus, it’s absolutely vital that Mourinho pushes for a new striker when the summer window opens. Having said that, Spurs must make a move for Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy.

Guirassy has been one of the rare bright sparks for Amiens, who are currently 19th in the table and battling relegation. He has netted eight goals and registered an assist in 21 Ligue 1 games. Daily Mail claims that he is valued at around £18million, with agent Mark McKay being brought in to facilitate his sale.
At the age of 23, there is untapped potential in the Frenchman, who has impressed in the Ligue 1 this term. Tottenham’s lack of quality depth in the striking department has worsened following injuries to Kane and Son.
Hence, they must reinforce their attack with Guirassy’s signing in the summer.
