Cheteshwar Pujara lost his wicket after a great bit of bowling from Trent Boult and a bit of misjudgement from the Indian
Indian star Cheteshwar Pujara seemed set for a long stay at the crease in the first Test against New Zealand but lost his wicket while facing Trent Boult.
Pujara had made 11 runs so far as India were following on after New Zealand’s 348 in their first innings.
The Indian star had made 11 in his first innings too but the away side folded for just 165 runs.
The 32-year-old is also one of India’s most experienced players in the Test format but badly misjudged a Boult delivery.
Boult came charging in and Pujara decided to leave the ball as he pushed his pads forward. The India star didn’t expect the delivery to jag back like it did as it clipped the off-stump.

The disappointment could be seen on Pujara’s face as he knew what a blunder he had done.
All the hard work he did was undone and India are in a spot of bother at the moment.
Here are some reactions from the fans regarding Pujara’s dismissal:

Boult strikes, he is doing for this captain. First, Pujara and second, King Kohli.

Pujara b Boult 11(81), Strike rate 13.58 and falls to a horrendous misjudgment. Poor Batting 😫

Pitch got eased out and was perfect time/conditions to bat. Even Boult while batting was middling every ball but Pujara made this track to look like a deadly one by scoring 11(81). No intent shown. Now pitch only gonna be tough for stroke making as time progresses. #NZvIND

India need a miracle to save the Test
The away side’s batting let them down a bit in the second innings too. Only Mayank Agarwal saved some of their blushes with a well-made 58 from 99 balls.
However, he was sent back thanks to Tim Southee. Virat Kohli failed with the bat, once more, and only made 19 from 43 balls. Prithvi Shaw could only add 14 to his name as India still trail by 39 runs.
Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari are the two batsmen currently on the pitch. They have made 40 between them, and need to continue batting for a long time to save India from a defeat.
New Zealand have looked better in all aspects of this game, and it will be interesting to see how they do in the remainder of the clash.
