(Watch) Virat Kohli out cheaply for 2 runs in first Test against New Zealand

India captain Virat Kohli was caught fishing outside the off-stump to Kyle Jamieson

Virat Kohli might be one of the greatest in the history of the game, but the India captain is also prone to making an error.

Kohli is still human and went fishing for a ball way outside the off-stump in the first India vs New Zealand Test.

The pitch was a bit of a tester given how the ball moves around in New Zealand. India were already struggling having lost Prithvi Shaw and Cheteshwar Pujara for 16 and 11, respectively.

The onus was on Kohli to provide India with a proper base for the rest of the Test. However, the captain was dismissed in a familiar fashion.

Jamieson’s delivery was moving a bit, and Kohli’s drive didn’t really work out. The ball edged off the bat and ended in the slips, to the joy of the New Zealand players.

Getting Kohli out for just two runs certainly was great for the home side, and India ended the day on just 122 for five wickets.

Many fans were also quick to react to Kohli’s dismissal

The match also was interrupted by rain and it will be interesting to see how the Men in Blue do for the rest of the game.

India struggling with the bat

Mayank Agarwal was one of the better performers on the day as he made 34 from 84 balls. However, he was dismissed by Trent Boult.

Ajinkya Rahane is on 38 while Rishabh Pant is not out on 10. The other batsman who struggled was Hanuma Vihari with seven runs from 20 balls.

Jamieson was the pick of the bowlers as he took three wickets for 38 runs. However, the likes of Tim Southee and Colin de Grandhomme did a great job of keeping the hosts from scoring.
