Kane Williamson is the New Zealand captain who led his side to the finals of the 2019 ICC World Cup
Kane Stuart Williamson is a 29-year old New Zealand cricketer, who currently captains the side in all the three formats of the game.
He led his country to the finals of the 2019 ICC World Cup, which they lost to eventual champions England.
Williamson is a right-handed batsman and is currently the best batsman in the New Zealand line-up.
An exceptional talent in his younger days itself Williamson was touted as future potential and is a good fielder, especially in the slips. He is also a handy off-spinner and can contribute to the side when required.
The Kiwi was born on August 8, 1990, in Tauranga, New Zealand to parents Brett Williamson and Sandra Williamson.
He has 3 older sisters Anna, Sophie and Kylie and a younger brother Logan. He went to Pillans Point Primary School and later graduated from Tauranga Boy’s College (2004-2008).
Williamson started playing first-class cricket when he was just 16 and made his debut in December 2007.
Williamson made his international debut in 2010 and has represented them in 3 World Cups (2011, 2015 and 2019) to date.
He made his full-time captaincy debut for the Kiwis in the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup in India. Despite his side finishing the runner-up in the 2019 World Cup, Williamson bagged the Player of the Tournament award.
He made his IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2015 and was given the captaincy in 2018. The same year he helped them finish runners-up to eventual champions Chennai Super Kings.
He also won the Orange Cap that year for scoring the maximum runs (735). The batter has so far played 78 Tests, 150 ODI, and 60 T20I’s for the Kiwis.

The New Zealand skipper is still unmarried and is in a steady relationship with English nurse Sarah Raheem. She was born in New Zealand but brought up in England and leads a very private life.
The couple met at a hospital where Williamson had gone for his treatment and have been together since 2015.
Both Williamson and Sarah have been seen together in functions, however, the two have never accepted their relationship in public.
