“KXIP bromance. Can’t wait for you two to unite” – Twitter goes crazy after Jimmy Neesham shares funny picture with KL Rahul

New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham and KL Rahul will feature for the Kings XI Punjab in the upcoming edition of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL)

Twitter went crazy after New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham posted a photo of him alongside Indian cricketer, KL Rahul, on his social media handle twitter on Tuesday.

Neesham had shared the photo on Twitter following his side’s win over India in the third and final ODI at the Bay Oval.

However, it was the Kiwi medium pacer’s funny caption that read: “Paper, scissors, rock,” that caught the attention of cricketing fans from around the globe, sending the Twitter world in a frenzy.

The picture shows both the players along with the umpire in a single frame in what looked like they were playing the popular ‘rock, paper, scissors’ game.

Rahul and Neesham were involved in a light banter in between the match. The bowler was seen coming into the way of the Indian batsman, who was running for a single off his delivery.

Both Neesham and Rahul will feature for the Kings XI Punjab side in the upcoming edition of the 2020 IPL scheduled to start from March 29. Meanwhile, Rahul was quick to retort to Neesham’s tweet on Wednesday saying: “Let’s settle this in April.”

Rahul, who will captain Neesham at Kings XI Punjab was taking a sly dig at the Kiwi bowler and was mentioning about the upcoming IPL tournament that would kick off later in the year. Meanwhile, here are a few of the reactions seen on Twitter after Neesham had shared the photo:

Rahul emerges second-highest run-scorer

KL Rahul continued his rich form from the 5-match T20 series onto the recently concluded 3-match ODI series as he emerged the second-highest run-scorer with 204 runs, only behind teammate Shreyas Iyer.

Iyer had a superb series with the bat despite India’s 3-0 loss in the series, scoring a whopping 217 runs from 3 games.

Rahul’s innings included a one century (112) – highest individual score in the series, and a fifty.

It was the first time in 31 years that India were whitewashed in an ODI series with 3 or matches. Last time it happened India had lost a series 3-0 to Sri Lanka in a bilateral ODI series in 1997.
