Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was the pick of the Indian bowlers taking four wickets
Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi came under the scanner after he was seen letting his emotions get the better of him in the ICC under-19 World Cup final against Bangladesh on Sunday.
Bishnoi, who was the pick of Indian bowlers in the summit clash, taking four wickets (4/30) could not, help his side defend their title as Bangladesh went on to claim their maiden World Cup.
It all started when a pumped-up Bangladesh side tormented the Indian batting line-up by getting under their skin.
The young colts from Bangladesh did not leave any chance to rile up the Indian players, which, however, was met with an equal jibe from the Indian camp and leading the proceedings was none other than leggie Bishnoi.
Bangladesh, who got off to a good start seemed to be in a good position when Bishnoi entered. The spinner grabbed three quick wickets in succession to once gain bring India back into the game.
A fired-up Bishnoi, who had not forgotten the Bangladeshi player’s attitude towards them decided to give it back to them and the incident happened during his fourth over of the day when he dismissed Towhid Hridoy.
Bishnoi, who trapped Hridoy leg before wicket (lbw) with a belter of delivery did not hide his emotions as he looked at Hridoy and pointed towards the dressing room. He also blurted out a Hindi cuss word at the Bangladesh batsman which sounded like “Bhag, Ma******d”.
Meanwhile, social media handle Twitter was quick to react to Bishnoi’s on-field antics, a few of which can be seen below:

India lose by 3 wickets
Meanwhile, defending champions India suffered a major blow as they failed to retain their title, losing to neighbours Bangladesh by three wickets via the Duckworth-Lewis method.
It was Bangladesh’s first-ever World Cup win in the under-19 tournament. The young Tigers, who had earlier won the toss chose to field sending Indians to bat first.
However, except for opener Yashasvi Jaiswal who scored 88 off 121 deliveries the rest of the Indian batsmen faltered as they were bowled out for a mere 177 runs.
Right-arm medium pacer Avishek Das and off-spinner Shamim Hossain excelled for the Bangladeshis’ picking up four and three wickets respectively to restrict India to a meagre total.
In response, Bangladesh, who were set a revised target of 170 runs after a brief rain interruption sailed to victory with 23 balls to spare. Skipper Akbar Ali rose to the occasion as he scored a crucial unbeaten 43 from 77 balls to steer the Bangladesh innings after Bishnoi ran through their batting line-up midway into the game.
Opener Parvez Hossain Emon top-scored for Bangladesh with a 79-ball 47 thus creating history and denying India of a record fifth title in their seventh final appearance.
