Navdeep Saini was excellent with the bat in the second ODI and had some huge sixes too
India pacer Navdeep Saini hit some lusty sixes in his time on the pitch during the second ODI vs New Zealand.
The 27-year-old was unsuccessful in getting any wickets as New Zealand made 273 for 8 from their 50 overs.
However, he did have a huge say when India were out batting. The away side were struggling at 153 for 7 when Shardul Thakur was dismissed and Saini walked in.
There was little chance for India to win this game but the 27-year-old made an incredible 45 from 49 balls and that included two huge sixes.
One of them, off Kyle Jamieson’s bowling, also saw Virat Kohli come off his seat and applaud the shot.
India were in a great position to win the ODI and level the series but Saini lost his wicket soon after to the Kiwi bowler.
That ended all hopes of a comeback, even though Ravindra Jadeja got a fifty. India’s top order failed and that was the nail in the coffin, but it was great to see the tail-enders bat for a long time.
Many fans were impressed with Saini’s sixes and batting, and here are some of their reactions.
Virat kholi shocked by saini six☺️☺️!! Expect the unexpected 😜😜#NZvIND

Kiwi pair get the job done while batting
All the Kiwi bowlers picked up a wicket, at least, but the credit for the target goes to Martin Guptill and Ross Taylor.
Guptill made a quality 79 from 79 balls while Taylor steadied a wobbly second half of the innings by making 73.
Taylor was not out on 73 and a 41 from Henry Nicholls helped New Zealand put up a decent total.
India’s batting let them down in this ODI and it will be interesting to see how things take place in the third and final clash on 11 February.
