Ariel Helwani interviewed Jon Jones ahead of UFC 247 and asked him how the UFC star had changed over the years
Jon Jones will be defending his Light Heavyweight championship at UFC 247 as he goes up against Dominick Reyes.
Jones is a veteran in the business and has had many title reigns. He is considered as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC, but it has been a long journey to the top.
The 32-year-old started his MMA career in 2008 and has just one loss from 27 matches. Jones has also fought some of the best in the industry and was asked by Ariel Helwani about a meeting from 2011.
The MMA reporter added that Jones was to fight for the championship almost nine years back and asked how the 32-year-old had changed:
“I’ve learned a lot, constantly growing, evolving, as a father, as an athlete, I just feel great.
“Being world champion since then, I am still here and doing great.”
Jones has had his run-ins with the law too, and has been stripped of the title in the past. However, the 32-year-old has always fought the adversity and come back stronger.
The current champion went on to say that all these issues helped him learn and grow and is looking forward to dominating the UFC.
Big test ahead of Jones
The American goes up against the undefeated Reyes in a week’s time. The 30-year-old last defeated Chris Weidman in impressive fashion, but going up against Jones is a different ball game.
