India star Shreyas Iyer produced another quality batting display against New Zealand

India batsman Shreyas Iyer put up another fantastic display in the second T20I against New Zealand.

The 25-year-old scored 44 runs from 33 balls and helped India to a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

India’s Shreyas Iyer looks on as his shot crosses the boundary against New Zealand on Friday.

Iyer was the hero for the Men in Blue in the first game too, and his half-century helped India to a win in that.

This time, he smashed three sixes for the Men in Blue and one was a huge effort against Ish Sodhi.

The ball was smashed over the Kiwi bowler’s head and landed high into the stands.

Iyer also had one four in his knock of 44, but Sodhi got the last laugh as he got the batsman out.

However, Iyer had dealt enough damage to the home side and helped India to a win.

Many Indian fans were impressed by Iyer’s performance and here are some of their reactions from Twitter:

India’s bowling does the damage

In the previous game, the batting from the away side was great. This time around, the bowling laid all the ground word as they restricted New Zealand to 132/5.

Ravindra Jadeja was excellent in the clash as he picked up two wickets for just 18 runs while Shivam Dube, Shardul Thakur and Jasprit Bumrah also got a wicket each.

Mohammed Shami and Yuzvendra Chahal were economical, just like the others, and the chase was made easier by KL Rahul.

The India opener scored 57 and remained not out in the clash while Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli failed to light it up.
