The Royal Challengers Bangalore asked NASA to help find the balls smacked by Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers but got trolled instead
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been the nearly men of the IPL. Virat Kohli’s side have been runners-up several times in the competition, but have never lifted the title.
That isn’t due to a lack of star power in the team. Kohli has been coupled with some superstars in the past, AB de Villiers, being one of the biggest ones.
However, they have been poor in recent seasons and have finished a highest of 6th in the last three years.
It will be interesting to see if things change for them. However, the South Indian team have been involved in some fairly big scoring matches.
De Villiers and Kohli have also smacked the ball around a lot, and earlier this year, RCB posted a short video regarding the ISRO launching Chandrayaan 2.
That mission, unfortunately, didn’t go off too well, but RCB wanted to know if any balls had been found by the Indian space mission from the batting pair.
NASA was able to locate the Vikram Lander from the mission, and RCB sent out the same tweet regarding Kohli and ABD.
Fans roast RCB
It isn’t a surprise that the social media team of an IPL side tried to create some engaging content.
The IPL won’t start for another few months, and the next big event is the player auction in a few days.
RCB got more than they bargained for with several fans pointing out that the team haven’t achieved much.
The Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad all look good ahead of the new season.
RCB cannot be ruled out, but given their previous performances, it will be great if they make it to the playoffs.
They have a decent team, and it will be interesting to see if they have the consistency to make a decent run.
