Predicted Leicester City XI to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League
Leicester City romped home to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Burton Albion to book their place in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup, thanks to goals from Kelechi Iheanacho, Youri Tielemans and James Maddison.
The Foxes set a new record for the margin of away victories in the Premier League with a 9-0 drubbing of Southampton away from home last week and Brendan Rodgers side will once again be the outright favourites when they make the trip to south London to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.
Roy Hodgson’s side claimed a crucial point with a 2-2 draw against Arsenal in their previous outing and but they could be up against a tough challenge when they face a Leicester side whose self-belief currently knows no bounds.
Brendan Rodgers will be expected to make quite a few changes to the eleven that played in the EFL Cup on Tuesday. Leicester made no major injury worries heading into the weekend clash, with Matty James being the only long-term absentee for the Foxes with a calf problem.
Kasper Schmeichel (GK)
Danny Ward started between the sticks on Tuesday but the Dane has been the undisputed first-choice for the Foxes for a long time now.
Ricardo Pereira (RB)
The Portuguese international has been in excellent form this season and he will be expected to replace James Justin on the teamsheet for the weekend trip to Palace.
Jonny Evans (CB)
The former Man Utd star has been as solid as a rock at the heart of the defence for Leicester City and there shouldn’t be any doubts regarding his selection on Sunday.
Caglar Soyuncu (CB)
The Turk has done quite brilliantly to fill the void left by the departure of Maguire in the summer and he should be back in the eleven after being rested for the EFL Cup game.
Ben Chilwell (LB)
Christian Fuchs had a decent outing in the EFL Cup but the England international is likely to get the nod ahead of him on Sunday following his awe-inspiring display in the 9-0 rout of Southampton.
Wilfried Ndidi (CDM)
The Nigerian has added a lot of steel and grit to the Foxes’ midfield with his robust tough-tackling displays and he is expected to start ahead of Hamza Choudhury, who played on Tuesday.
Ayoze Perez (RM)
The Spaniard hit the ground running at the King Power stadium with a hat-trick against the Saints last week and he should be fresh and ready to start on Sunday after being rested for the cup tie.
James Maddison (CAM)
He is Leicester’s most influential creative outlet and the Foxes will need him to bring all his guile and finesse into play if they are to claim all three points from their trip to Selhurst Park.
Youri Tielemans (CM)
The Belgian is high on confidence after finding the net in back-to-back games and a lot will depend on how he goes about things on Sunday.
