Another Sanchez story? Here is why Man United must avoid signing this 29-year-old La Liga attacker at all costs

Manchester United Opinion: Why United should avoid signing Gareth Bale?

According to Spanish football expert, Andrew Gaffney, Real Madrid star Gareth Bale could be offered to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Wales international, 29, has endured a tough season at the Santiago Bernabeu, scoring just eight league goals in a season which was supposed to see him take over the mantle as Real Madrid’s main man following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus.

Real have had a difficult season in the La Liga and are set to end the season third in the table, without a single trophy. The Spanish giants’ poor form has seen Zinedine Zidane return as manager.

Zidane and Gareth Bale had a rocky relationship during the Frenchman’s first stint at the club, and his return at the Santiago Bernabeu is likely to spell the end of the Welsh winger.

The Los Blancos are keen to offload the 29-year-old superstar in the summer, as Zidane wants to make wholesale changes at the club following their underwhelming 2018/19 campaign. That being said, should Manchester United sign Bale?

Manchester United finished a full 32 points behind their city rivals and eventual champions Manchester City – the same difference between themselves and Cardiff in 18th in the 2018/19 campaign.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made an immediate impact when he replaced Jose Mourinho as the manager in December; however, since being appointed permanently in March, results have been awful.

The Red Devils won just two of their final 12 fixtures, taking just a point from relegated duo Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City in their final two games to slump into sixth place in the Premier League table.

Given the miserable season, Solskjaer is expected to bring in reinforcements over the summer. The Norwegian tactician wants to conclude his transfer business by July 1, as he wants everyone in for the pre-season.

United have had problems on the right wing for some years now, with Solskjaer’s squad lacking an out-and-out right wide-man. Bale, in that sense, could be the answer to their problems but Solskjaer should avoid splashing the cash on him.

The Welshman is set to turn 30 in July and will at the most have three years to offer at the highest level.

He has had recurrent injury problems for the past three seasons at Madrid and rarely makes the starting XI when fit. The former Tottenham ace would cost a lot of money in the transfer fee as well as in the wages.

United have had to go through a nightmarish time following Alexis Sanchez’s signing and they don’t need another superstar just to cling onto wages and underperform.

Thus, the addition of Bale, who has struggled at Real Madrid, is just not worth for Solskjaer’s United.

No Hazard, no problem: Here is why Chelsea must focus on signing this 23-year-old wing machine from La Liga

Chelsea Opinion: Marco Asensio will be a huge addition to the Blues’ ranks

According to a recent report by The Sun, Maurizio Sarri’s Russian-oil powered Chelsea side are said to looking at the possibility of signing Real Madrid prodigy Marco Asensio. With the Blues hierarchy dealing with the real possibility of losing Eden Hazard in the summer, the young Spaniard is being listed as one of the possible replacements.

While the report suggests that they are also interested in Edinson Cavani, Philippe Coutinho and Wilfried Zaha, Asensio has the right kind of footballing attitude to ably replace their prolific Belgian. While a ready-replacement for Hazard certainly isn’t present in world football today, Marco Asensio could be a fairly reasonable shout.

Chelsea’s impending transfer ban will also play a huge part in the manner in which they conduct their business this summer. While an implementation of the ban would mean that the Blues cannot utilise the transfer market to acquire any new resources, the added headache of Hazard’s departure could prove to be a fatal blow.

Eden Hazard has been at the heart of everything positive that has gone down at Stamford Bridge this season and with the Europa League still hanging in the balance, he could well deliver another trophy before his proposed move to Spain.

The Belgian’s creativity has been the Blues’ biggest attacking source and they do not possess the squad to challenge for the league without him.

The addition of Marco Asensio could come as massive motivation to this stuttering Chelsea side. Although he’s still quite young, he boasts exceptional maturity when he picks up the ball and is even a danger when running into spaces from midfield.

His movement in and around the final third have been one of the features Real Madrid’s play over the last couple of seasons and because he’s struggled to make a real impact this term, this could be the ideal time for him to move onto another challenge.

The 23-year-old left-winger has only scored 1 league goal all campaign and despite his efforts throughout the term, he’s only notched up 6 assists from his 29 games as well. Having started less than 15 matches in the league, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him seeking out a different environment next season.

Chelsea’s struggles in the final third certainly haven’t been a secret and despite the scheduled arrival of Christian Pulisic, the loss of Hazard could prove to be a fairly tough blow. By being in Marco Asensio, they would be getting a proven star who has featured for club and country for a few years now.

Ultimate Coutinho replacement? – This 23-year-old star’s brilliance in a No. 10 role makes him perfect for Liverpool

Liverpool Opinion: Why Marco Asensio will be a smart signing for the Reds?

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Liverpool are linked with a summer swoop for Real Madrid star Marco Asensio.

The Spanish forward, 23, has endured a frustrating 2018/19 campaign in the La Liga, as Real Madrid are slated to finish third in the table. He has managed just one goal and four assists in 29 league appearances for the Los Blancos, failing to hold down a regular spot in the team.

The report claims Marco Asensio has a contract at Real Madrid until 2023 with a €700million release clause, but it’s next to impossible for any club to pay such a hefty amount to sign the attacker.

And despite Madrid President Florentino Perez’s lack of desire to sell the 23-year-old, Liverpool must make a move for the Spaniard.

Liverpool missed out on the Premier League title on the final day of the Premier League despite beating Wolves 2-0 at Anfield. It is to Jurgen Klopp’s eternal credit that his players have performed with heart and energy, week in and week out this season.

The Reds failed to end their 29-year-long wait for the title, but Klopp and the fans will be really proud of the players that pushed Manchester City all the way to the final day of the campaign. Promising signs ahead for the Merseysiders and Klopp, who is keen to strengthen his forward department over the summer, despite having a thrilling and cohesive attacking unit.

Asensio fits the billing at Anfield and while he has had a poor season at Madrid, he still can add a lot of attacking verve to the Reds’ squad. The Spanish attacker is one of the sought-after players in Europe and would represent a fantastic signing for Liverpool.

The 23-year-old is a speedy and agile winger, who is more than capable of playing in the no.10 role. That combined with his creativity and finishing ability inside the box makes him very dangerous for the opposition to contain.

With his talent and sheer quality, the Spanish international has a very bright future ahead of him and one that will be very useful for the Merseysiders.

Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah were once again fantastic for Liverpool, but it remains to be seen whether the trio can replicate their form in the 2019/20 season.

Someone like Asensio will add depth to the Reds’ attacking ranks, whilst giving them another outlet to attack from. The Spaniard is 23 and could become a star in the years to come under the astute Klopp at Anfield.

Man United would get closer to solving midfield woes by beating Arsenal to sign this 24-year-old La Liga ace

Manchester United Opinion: Why the Red Devils should sign Marcos Llorente

According to a report from Spanish news outlet AS, Manchester United and Arsenal have both made offers to sign Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente.

The Spaniard, 24, has struggled to establish himself at the Santiago Bernabeu, playing just six games all season. In fact, he has managed just two appearances since Zinedine Zidane replaced Santiago Solari.

Zidane has told Marcos Llorente his week that he has no future at Real Madrid, alerting the Premier League duo Manchester United and Arsenal. Both the clubs are interested in bringing the defensive midfielder to the Premier League and have made proposals to the player, who is contracted at Madrid until 2021.

That being said, Manchester United should do everything to beat Arsenal to Llorente’s signature in the summer.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already addressed in the media that his club will be smart in their transfer business this summer. He is expected to have a busy transfer window, with the Red Devils’ squad in desperate need of improvement.

Transfers in recent years have often been for big, high profile, names, like Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba, and it’s often not worked out. Hence, the need to change the system of recruitment will be welcomed among the United fans, who have had a terrible time watching their team this season.

Reinforcements are needed in almost every area of the pitch, but most importantly, Solskjaer must bolster his midfield options over the summer. Ander Herrera and Juan Mata are coming to end of their contracts in June, while Paul Pogba’s future remains up in the air.

Fred hasn’t done enough to impress in his debut season at Old Trafford and with Nemanja Matic set to turn 31 in August, United desperately need young, fresh blood in the engine room.

After a season of underwhelming performances and an ill-fated spell of injuries, it’s time for Solskjaer to find a replacement for the ageing Matic. And a player like Marcos Llorente would fit the bill perfectly at Old Trafford.

Llorente hasn’t been able to make a big impact at Madrid this season, but there is potential in him to be a key player for years to come. The Spaniard is a defensive midfielder by trade, known for his passing, work-rate and interceptions skills. His positional play and innate understanding of the game would make him a solid fit in Solskjaer’s system.

The 24-year-old as a strong defensive game, carries the ball well, while also contributing creativity from midfield and most importantly, comfortable in a 4-3-3. Such qualities could mean Llorente replaces Matic in the holding role next season and allows the likes of McTominay and Fred or Pereira the license to build attacks from midfield.

As Solskjaer mentioned, United need to recruit clever to bridge the gap between themselves and the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool. Llorente has to be one of the signings in the summer to help the Red Devils return to the heights expected.
