Predicted Arsenal XI to face BATE Borisov in the Europa League

Arsenal beat basement club Huddersfield Town on Saturday, thanks to first-half goals from Alex Iwobi and Alexandre Lacazette. Sead Kolasinac’s stoppage-time own goal ruined Arsenal’s clean sheet as the Gunners won 2-1.

Next up for Unai Emery is a trip to Belarus to face BATE Borisov in the first leg of a Europa League round of 32 clash on Thursday.

Team News

Unai Emery’s injury woes continue with Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos still out with an ankle problem. Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey are big doubts too with the duo missing out the 2-1 victory at Huddersfield due to injuries. Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are both expected to return after recovering from illness.

Meanwhile, Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck have been ruled out for the season.

Probable Arsenal XI

Manager: Unai Emery

Formation: 3-4-3

Petr Cech (GK)

The veteran has been Arsenal’s cup goalkeeper since losing his place to Bernd Leno in the Premier League. Cech will wear the captain’s armband against BATE Borisov.

Carl Jenkinson (RWB)

The 27-year-old will take over from Ainsley Maitland Niles, who started against Huddersfield on Saturday. Jenkinson will play as a right wing-back.

Stephan Lichsteiner (RCB)

The former Juventus man will return to the starting XI and will start on the right-hand side of the central defence. The Swiss international will bring in leadership and experience to the Arsenal backline.

Shkodran Mustafi (CB)

The German international started the game at Huddersfield and put in an impressive show. He will keep his place at the heart of the Arsenal defence.

Konstantinos Mavropanos (LCB)

The young Greek returned from injury last month and is raring for a start. His speed, physique and reading of the game will be important against Borisov.

Nacho Monreal (LWB)

The Spaniard has played at centre-back since returning from injury but will be back in his natural position on Thursday.

Derby County vs Aston Villa Predictions: Derby County Line-up

Derby County and Aston Villa face a trip to Wembley on May 27 to decide who will play in the Premier League next season.

The Rams secured an impressive 4-2 victory over Leeds United last week to claim a 4-3 aggregate win in the Championship playoff semi-finals.

Frank Lampard’s Derby County, however, will not have things easier during the final as they will be up against a very competent Aston Villa, who arrive at Wembley after defeating their Midland rivals West Brom in the last round.

Team News

After picking up a red-card during the game against Leeds, Scott Malone is suspended for the final.

Martyn Waghorn missed the second-leg against Leeds but is expected to be fit in time for the Wembley showdown.

Probable Derby County XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Frank Lampard

Kelle Roos (GK)

The Dutchman is Derby’s first-choice goalkeeper and should start the final at Wembley.

Jayden Bogle (RB)

Bogle has been excellent for the Rams this season, causing the opponents all kinds of problems with his overlapping runs and crossing abilities.

Richard Keogh (CB)

Keogh is a certainty in central defence for the Rams. He is expected to start the final against Aston Villa.

Fikayo Tomori (CB)

The Derby County Player of the Year has been a solid presence at the back. He would partner Keogh and look to keep the Villa attackers at bay.

Ashley Cole (LB)

Malone’s absence is likely to mean that Lampard will have to rely on the services of veteran Ashley Cole for the final.

Bradley Johnson (CM)

Bradley Johnson was excellent in the second leg against Leeds, as he dictated the tempo of the game, broke up play and made smart runs inside the box. He is an undoubted starter on Monday.

Tom Huddlestone (CM)

Duane Holmes struggled to get in grips with the midfield battle against Leeds in the second leg. Hence, Huddlestone should replace him at Wembley.

Harry Wilson (RW)

Wilson is Derby’s chief creative spark and he’ll have to be at the top of his game to help his team defeat Villa in the final.

Mason Mount (CAM)

Mount was magical in the semi-final return leg at Elland Road. He is expected to start in his preferred no.10 role and cause problems for the opposition.

Tom Lawrence (LW)

Lawrence didn’t impact much in the second leg against Leeds. Yet, he could be preferred ahead of the hardworking Bennett on the left wing.

Aston Villa vs Derby County Predictions: Aston Villa Line-up

Aston Villa take on Derby County in the Championship play-off final on Monday hoping to cross the line this time around and achieve promotion.

The Villans are favourites heading into the finale having won both encounters between the two teams so far this season – by an aggregate score of 7-0.

But they’ll need to produce a better performance to win at Wembley after Dean Smith’s side huffed and puffed against West Brom in the semi-finals, particularly in the second leg at the Hawthorns.

Team News

Axel Tuanzebe limped off in the dying moments of extra time against West Brom, but he is expected to be fit ahead of the Wembley showdown.

Smith, meanwhile, has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the final.

Probable Aston Villa XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Dean Smith

Jed Steer (GK)

Steer turned hero as he made crucial saves in the penalty shootout against West Brom. He is a certainty to be in goal in the final.

Ahmed Elmohamady (RB)

The Egyptian will have to be strong defensively to potentially keep Lawrence quiet on Monday.

Axel Tuanzebe (CB)

Tuanzebe is being assessed on a regular basis after he hobbled off at West Brom but should be able to recover for the final at Wembley.

Tyrone Mings (CB)

Mings has been a rock at the back and should partner Tuanzebe against Aston Villa.

Neil Taylor (LB)

The Welshman has been impressive for the Villans in the second half of the season and he should retain his place at left-back.

Conor Hourihane (CDM)

Hourihane started the second leg against West Brom and did very well. He’ll be preferred ahead of veteran Whelan in the holding role for the biggest game of the season.

John McGinn (RCM)

Arguably Villa’s best player at the Hawthorns, McGinn’s presence will be crucial in midfield. The diminutive Scotsman adds a lot of energy and bite to the side, making him indispensable to Smith.

Jack Grealish (LCM)

Grealish has been crucial behind Villa’s surge to the play-off final and he’ll be determined to lead from the front against Derby County.

Anwar El Ghazi (LW)

Blessed with good pace, power and dribbling skills, El Ghazi will look to give a torrid time to the Derby defenders.

Jonathan Kodjia (RW)

Green didn’t vindicate Smith’s selection against West Brom at the Hawthorns. Thus, that could see Kodjia start on the left at Wembley.

Nikola Katic (CB)

Katic had a solid game alongside Goldson against Celtic and the Croat will keep his place in the starting XI.

Jon Flanagan (LB)

Flanagan has found most of the opportunities under Gerrard at left-back. He should continue there on Sunday.

Ryan Jack (CDM)

One of Rangers’ best players this season, Jack’s presence in the midfield allows the creative players to express themselves freely.

Steven Davis (LCM)

Davis had a good game against Celtic last weekend and is expected to keep his place in the team.

Glenn Kamara (RCM)

Kamara has been an impactful signing for Gerrard’s side and since his arrival in January, he has added a lot of energy and steel to the midfield.

Scott Arfield (RW)

Arfield has made a huge difference to this Rangers side, adding creativity and a touch of flair to the attack. The Canadian could start at right wing on Sunday.

Ryan Kent (LW)

With six goals and four assists, Kent has enjoyed a strong season at the Ibrox. The Liverpool loanee will look to finish the season on a high.
