Chelsea predicted XI vs Huddersfield Town: Who will start for the Blues?
Premier League giants Chelsea will kick off their campaign against minnows Huddersfield Town on Saturday. With the Blues under the guidance of a new coach, the London-based club must win all three points against a team that finished 16th last season.
Maurizio Sarri and his boys will travel to Yorkshire with the intention of starting the road to the Premier League title on the right note. Following three successful years with Napoli, Sarri must strive to cement his legacy at Stamford Bridge.
Now, let’s take a look at Chelsea’s predicted line-up against Huddersfield Town for the Blues’ season opener at Kirklees Stadium on Saturday.
Predicted Chelsea XI
Manager: Maurizio Sarri
Kepa Arrizabalaga (GK)
With the world’s most expensive stopper protecting the Chelsea net, the youngster will be faced with a lot of pressure. The Spaniard has replaced Thibaut Courtois and it will be interesting to see how he fares.
Marcos Alonso (LB)
Marcos Alonso has played a major role as a left-back since his move to Chelsea in 2016. Having played over 60 matches for Chelsea in previous two seasons, he is expected to retain the position this year as well. His ability to score goals (13 goals in two seasons), makes him a dangerous left-back to watch out for.
Antonio Rudiger (CB)
The Germany centre-back was an essential one in Conte’s line-up last season. Rudiger is known for his accurate passes on the green lush, which could be instrumental in setting up counter-attacks for the Blues.
David Luiz (CB)
The experienced Brazilian is known for his work-rate and technique. Despite having played just 10 games for the Blues last season, he is sure to take his place as a centre-back in their first encounter.
Cesar Azpilicueta (RB)
The spine of the Chelsea defence, Cesar Azpilicueta has been instrumental in guiding the team over the years. Having played over 280 matches for Chelsea in all competitions, his experience will be an added advantage. A good tackler of the ball, he is sure to be a nightmare for the opposition strikers.
Ross Barkley (CAM)
Ross Barkley hardly got to play under Conte since his move to Chelsea in January. But with Sarri in charge now, the England international must receive more game time.
Having played under Sarri at Napoli, Jorginho should start in the season opener against Huddersfield Town. It will be interesting to see how Jorginho will adapt to English football.
N’Golo Kante (DM)
Fresh from winning the FIFA World Cup in Russia, Kante must replicate the same success for Chelsea this season. A box-to-box midfielder, Kante should build a strong midfield partnership along with Jorginho and Barkley.
Eden Hazard (LW)
Hazard has already proven to be one of the best forwards in Chelsea’s history and he must aim to win his third Premier League title with the Blues.
Alvaro Morata (CF)
The centre-forward will have to play a major role on Saturday if the Blues want to start the season with a win. A magician on the football pitch, Morata has to deliver against Huddersfield. Having scored 11 Premier League goals last season, the forward is expected to come up with more this time around.
The left-winger had a rather silent 2017/18 season but is expected to deliver this time around. His exploits on the pitch were well-registered during his time with Spanish giants Barcelona. He is sure to play a crucial role in assisting Morata in the game against Huddersfield.
Olivier Giroud must forget Chelsea and join any of these 2 PL sides to revive his career – Here is why
Chelsea Opinion: Two ideal Premier League destinations for Olivier Giroud
According to a report from Sky Sports, Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud wants to move back to France when his contract expires at the end of the season after growing frustrated by a lack of playing time under manager Maurizio Sarri.
The Frenchman, 32, has made just see Premier League starts this season. He has fallen behind the on-loan Gonzalo Higuain in the pecking order after the Argentine’s arrival from Juventus in January.
This has resulted in Olivier Giroud getting very less opportunities in the Premier League, although he has been a regular in Europa League where he is the competition’s top-scorer with nine goals in as many games.
The striker, who won the World Cup with France last summer, may have admitted his desire to move back to France but there could be clubs in the Premier League that could hand Giroud an opportunity to continue his career in England.
With that in mind, here are two ideal Premier League destinations for Giroud.
1. West Ham
According to a report from the Daily Mirror, West Ham wanted to sign Giroud last summer and again in January. But Manuel Pellegrini ended up keeping Marko Arnautovic as a move to China failed to materialise.
But come summer, Pellegrini could face a potential burnout of options in the strike department.
Arnautovic, despite penning a new one-year contract extension, could leave if a bigger club comes calling, while Andy Carroll is out of contract in June. Javier Hernandez may stay put after finding his form of late but Lucas Perez could leave West Ham due to lack of opportunities.
That leaves a big hole in the Hammers’ attack and there won’t be a better time for the Londoners to reignite their interest and sign Giroud. The Frenchman could be an ideal replacement for Carroll, whilst having a better fitness record than the English forward.
Also, the 32-year-old won’t cost a single penny for Pellegrini, meaning the Hammers could be able to use their funds in strengthening other areas of the pitch.
Everton have lacked a clinical goal-scorer since the departure of Romelu Lukaku two years ago. Cenk Tosun has failed to live up to the billing since joining from Besiktas in January 2018, leaving an extra burden of scoring regularly on the young shoulders of Dominic Calvert-Lewin this season.
The Toffees manager, Marco Silva, needs to address this problem ahead of the next season. And signing Giroud from Chelsea this summer would certainly be a step in the right direction for the Royal Blues.
In Giroud, Everton would finally get a focal point to their attack that they have desperately lacked all this campaign. The Frenchman is excellent at link-up play and his ability to hold the ball up would help bring the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Bernard and Richarlison more into play.

Not to forget, Everton would not need to break the bank for the former Arsenal man. All in all, the 32-year-old striker’s signing would represent a coup for Silva’s side.
Chelsea signing any of these 3 superstars would provide Sarri with the ideal replacement for Eden Hazard – Agreed?
Chelsea Opinions: 3 big-money Eden Hazard alternatives for The Blues
Chelsea are one of England’s biggest football clubs and certainly are a force to reckoned with whenever their massively talented squad turns up. With an illustrious trophy cabinet and a rather colourful past, they have gradually grown into a European superpower.
While there are various players within the Chelsea ranks who can be considered world-beaters, if there’s one man who stands out from the others, then that man is the Belgian wizard Eden Hazard who has singlehandedly won Chelsea a lot of football matches.
Signed from Ligue 1 side Lille in the summer of 2012, he joined the Blues on the back of a special season in France but his impact in this Chelsea team was instant and it took him no time to nail down a starting role while also turning into a fan-favourite with top quality play.
The Belgian skipper has won 2 Premier League titles during his time in England while he also managed to win the prestigious Europa League in his first season at Stamford Bridge. Now an unassailable member of this team, his contributions are unmatched and he is adored by the Blues’ faithful.
With a report from the Metro indicating that Hazard has expressed uncertainty about his future at the club amid interest from Real Madrid, Chelsea should start looking for his replacement now and try and get a deal done at the earliest possible opportunity.
Here are three players who will be able to effectively fill the void that Eden Hazard is set to leave:
This 23-year-old Mexican international winger has all the perfect attributes to be a direct replacement for the magical Belgian as he boasts a similar low centre of gravity and is also capable of identical mazy dribbles into opposition territory.
With 15 goals and 8 assists to his name from 24 Eredivisie appearances this term for PSV Eindhoven, the speedster has really shown himself in a good light and the fact that his skill-set is quite a lot like Hazard’s will come as an added boost as well.
Possibly the most convenient deal that the Blues could pull off, they could utilise Real Madrid’s purchase of Eden Hazard to bring this talented Spanish prodigy to English capital as he certainly has a massive future ahead of him.
Still only 23, the Spanish international has scored 1 and assisted 4 in 22 league games this season and while his quality is unquestionable, his lack of regular game-time is down to the competition for places at a club as monstrous as Los Blancos and that’s why a move to Chelsea makes sense for the youngster.
Another young prodigy, the 21-year-old has been touted for massive things given the quality of football he is producing at such a young age. He has scored 3 goals and assisted a further 6 from his 18 Serie A appearances for AS Roma this season while he got 3 goals and 2 assists from their 6 Champions League group games.

Capable of amazing skill and trickery, he show the right amount to potential to be a future star and the English game could be perfect for this Turkish international. Originally a right-winger, he is capable of playing anywhere across the front-line making him versatile and a good option for the Blues to consider.
This talismanic 22-year-old La Liga star would be best served joining any of these 3 PL sides – Agreed?
Premier League Opinion: 3 ideal summer destinations for Maxi Gomez
La Liga is one of Europe’s premier leagues and the quality of football that is showcased by even the relatively smaller teams in generally top-class. Additionally, unlike in the Premier League, a large number of young players are scouted and signed with the future of the clubs in mind.
One such players was brought in by Celta Vigo in the summer of 2017 from Uruguayan outfit Defensor – talismanic forward Maximiliano Gomez. The 22-year-old has really come into the limelight over the last couple of seasons after putting in some special displays for the La Liga minnows.
The big striker has scored 9 goals in his 25 league appearances this season while he’s also managed to notch up 5 assists. His ability to time runs has set him apart as one of the most sought-after young forwards in the world today.
A report from The Mirror is suggesting that Maxi Gomez could leave Celta for as low as around £21m in the summer if they’re unable to maintain La Liga status with West Ham said to be one of the clubs keen on the Uruguayan’s services.
Given his talismanic nature, here are 3 clubs who should move for the youngster in the summer:
The Reds have often depended on Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for goals this season and while they have delivered, the addition of a different striker to the kind that Roberto Firmino is, would certainly go a long way in improving their squad.
While the Brazilian is an expert at build-up play, Maxi Gomez would provide a much bigger presence up-front and Liverpool could utilise him whenever Firmino seems ineffective and a more direct attacking approach is required.
The Blues have really suffered this season because of their apparent inability to finish off chances. Despite the recent arrival of Gonzalo Higuain, their luck doesn’t seem to have changed and a more youthful forward could be the answer to their troubles.
Gomez is a constant live-wire who will not give the opposition defence a single moment of respite and that is exactly the kind of striker that Maurizio Sarri’s system needs. His athleticism and finishing ability will certainly be useful at Stamford Bridge and he would definitely be a good investment for the future as well.
Tottenham’s dependence on Harry Kane over the years has been extremely worrying and the presence of Spanish forward Fernando Llorente has a backup to the prolific Englishman certainly hasn’t worked out quite as planned.

Maxi Gomez can be the perfect player for Spurs as he has the ability and versatility to play just behind Harry Kane and really prosper. His powerful running will complement Kane’s abilities and even if they do stick to playing with one up-front, he has enough quality to challenge Harry for the starting role.
